    Nahhh. Encore is pretty indefensible. Edge to relapse.

    I don't see recovery being his worst album btw -- I get the politics behind making a statement there.. that sound kind of typifies what watered down pop rap sounds like now. Still no way mmlp2 is twice as good as recovery

    How? I feel like a drugged out eminem trying to spite the people who leaked his music is more of a defense than "look how good I'm rhyming about sticking umberellas up vaginas and my dad comically molesting me!!"

    Plus I liked his voice more back then, and encore has more highlights

    Fair points, not gonna disparage you for your pov here. Not here to hurt you, or belittle you. I respect you.

    That said, I dunno. I think Relapse has more going on than a lot of people (here, the world) give it credit for. I'm in the minority, but I just see it having more imaginative space. It's a failure, mostly, but I think the effort means something. For the same reason, I think Encore is a mess.

    It's mostly just boring tho

    For sure, for me it comes down to the fact that i would sooner sit through encore front to back than relapse

    Yeah, see -- I literally would not do that. Even a track like Mockingbird, which should work, most definitely doesn't. Mawkish, worse version of Hailie's Song. I also rly loathe Like Toy Soldiers (and obviously Mosh and Just Lose It). Offhand, the only track I stomach (I think) is Encore - final track

    i was growing up during the encore era of eminem so i have a soft spot for all those mentioned.

    plus i dont remember ever thinking mockingbird was bad. toy soldiers is kind of boring. mosh is probably alright but i barely listen to it.

    hey using "lame" isnt fair. a lot of the ones i "like" or "tolerate" are still very lame for sure :'(

    good question, that mightve been an oversight. i can definitely tolerate it at the very least because of the hook. havent heard relapse in ages

    I think it is pretty easy to make the case that Encore was the beginning of a decline that reversed itself slightly with MMLP2
    I'd say that Recovery is EASILY the worst album of the bunch regardless of how you arrange the other three

    I think what we should keep in mind is that they're both f---ing horrible so which one of them is slightly less horrible really doesn't matter all that much tbh

    I haven't listened either tbh, I kept Deja Vu, My Mom, SSAD, Hello and OTS and deleted the rest of the album

    you're certainly right on that last point--mmlp2 isn't twice as good. i overrated it.

    i don't know, i wish i could tell you the recovery rating was me taking a stand against something but...i just find it really offensively bad. like, in a way i don't even find encore/relapse/mmlp2 bad. not afraid is the worst type of rap song, and it's not an outlier.

    Can you elaborate on why you think Like Toy Soldiers is lame? Many people consider it to be one of the best songs on the album.
