Why are you basing everything off threads though? We saw what happened with the '500 posts in 24 hours' thing, do we really want to see threads like that on the regular? I understand encouraging new content but seems like quality will take a major hit..I also think this will discourage a lot of new members from being active when they see how impossible it is.

Anyways, I've officially given up on plus, don't care about the music exclusives but just wanted to read through the section once..Oh well.

Not sure why you guys are reposting that. It's already been said and everyone should know that already. Real talk having high posts/likes should count more than it does. All the users that should be plus already (vets), would be plus and or would be plus sooner if you made 5k likes a nice sum of points. By the time you get 5k likes, you will have already been a big part of the site.. obviously popular and obviously not a spammer, since people liked your s---. It could give a nice chuck, that otherwise would be gotten from 100 threads. So few people have 5k likes already and are barely hitting 3k,4k which would bring you pretty close to plus.. but then you would also need 3,4k posts which would bring you to like.. 93% Then you just need like 75 threads for the rest of the points. Overall, threads just need to be worth less to discourage users like myself or bot from making too many threads.

As you can see, members with 4k + posts and 4k + likes are already plus.

Members like @Kon @VMO2 @Peter Parker @Deadpool @FullSpeed @rapmusik @able with 3k+ likes are already plus worthy.
Some would just need few more posts or threads to finish up.

Users like @Bot, @csw62 have high post count, but low likes, they would not be plus because the likes play such a large factor.
They would need more likes or more threads to achieve plus.

Steady users like with 2-3k posts/likes @LukeS80 @Zep @JMG and myself would be getting close to plus off posts and likes alone, but would definitely need threads to get plus early.





Likes are the way to go.

Sectioneighty is still a pretty new website and users are just barely getting to 10k posts/likes.. users that are admins/plus already.

It's not like anyone is even close to that and they could get plus a lot easier anyways.
Just break the points up into milestones every 500 likes/posts. People can't spam their way there because of the likes holding so much value. Trustttt.

i went ahead and plussed @Kon as he was gonna get it regardless in few days

you need 8500 points to achieve plus now instead of 7500, to put things in perspective, only 3 members would be plus in the new criteria

@Koolo if you think there's spam now.... making it 200 threads will bring a ton of threads with no replies imo. It's hard enough thinking about ideas for 100 but 200 is crazy. It's just way too much. Don't you think raising the posts and likes you need would be better? I mean even making it 5000 posts and 5000 likes would be better than 200 threads imo. that's just asking for a lot of bad threads and spam to be posted. If you go with posts and likes, I don't think you'd be sacrificing as much quality. Or the donation idea. Or, maybe come up with something new and create some new trophies?

Plus shouldn't be point based. Too many virgin weirdos spamming the forums to gain a sense of superiority in an online community. Plus members should be the overall best members.

I can see where @Koolo is coming from. He created Plus to be earned to show loyalty, longevity and how much you put into the forum. When Plus was implemented when SXN80 started in his mind he saw only a few people getting it when the forum was taking off, then when the forum got bigger more would come into the fold, but not at the increased rate it is.

IMO the thread making isn't a hard one to do. If each member creates 2 good threads a day that's 14 in a week. It'll be a long grind, but with patience and determination you'll net Plus.

Even if I weren't Plus right now I'd still agree.
