I don’t know what your criteria is for sound or what you even define as dusty. My point is that you’re missing out on finding what you’re looking for by completely shutting yourself off from a wide range of potential in the pool of independent/underground artists that you can discover through streaming algorithms. But I’ll just give you a list of random rappers with individual sounds/styles that you may not know about:

    Nana
    Villain Park
    Nick Grant
    CJay/Real Prophecy
    K.A.A.N.
    Deca
    noname
    Marlon Craft
    R.A.P. Ferreria
    Blu
    Cambatta
    Ill Conscious
    Erick the Architect
    Oddisee

I mostly listen to UK rappers these days so I’ll give you a list of those too:

    J Hus
    Ghetts
    Lowkey
    Mic Righteous
    Stormzy
    Knucks
    Chip
    Pa Salieu
    BenAddict
    Jam Baxter
    Leaf Dog
    Datkid
    Loyle Carner
    Klashnekoff
    Rocks FOE

This is also what happens when you're specifically looking for big releases from one genre, every type of music ebbs and flows on the cadence of big releases.

I've grown into a position of liking a s--- ton of different music big and small of many different genres so the amount of new stuff that's interesting to me is bigger and the back catalogue of stuff I missed out on is incredibly large.

I also loosely pay attention to music sites and YouTube channels for new releases or favorite albums of a said year and it's lead me to albums and songs I really love!

Honestly my main problem is I get stuck in cycles on styles of music I like too much to the point where I overplay it instead of listening to stuff that I've had saved for a long time.

More power to the small / medium artists then! But I understand, there’s more s--- to dig through when finding music that clicks with you at that level. There are clones… and just a lot of mid music.

I would say it’s worth it though, most of my actual most anticipated releases nowadays come from small/medium artists.

Making music yourself can be a way to fulfill that hunger too

I liked a song on there dont know the name anymore. I stopped posting on the thread because people just recommended trash intentionally sorry bro.
You know what a lot of those new rappers is missing? Personality and originality. Compare all the xxl freshmen you clearly see a downfall

Nah its cool. But i think the reason why rap is auiet now is that a lot of the big guys dont release albums and a lot of the people that are new or some of the underground guys just are boring or sound like someone already established. Why should i listen to someone that sounds like a kendrick rip off or carti rip off

I mean Lloyd Banks dripped 3 projects in 3 years so...

But seriously why dont you look back and try some pre2010 stuff? But i really seems like you jist need a new genre, listen to Gecs there pretty original.
