    Quality > Quantity

But I do agree that it's to early to compare the two. E-40 has been putting out music since the early 90's, Kendrick just blew up a couple years ago. With that being said though if Kendrick continues to remain consistent for another project or two, I don't think there's a question who's better at that point.

haven't listened to serengeti, so i can't comment on him. dunno why you brought him up anyway, my comment was about kanye and common

    common's rapping> kanye's
    resurrection> any kanye CD

    the album one is debate-able

but kanye's RAPPING better than common's? LOL

if you asked a bunch of people who listen to a lot of hip hop and have heard these two artists work......how many of them do you think would say that kanye can RAP better than common?

i think its safe to say common would get more votes in that category

I'm just gonna throw this out there, because I feel left out of these greatest rapper lists, but my taste of music is way different than a majority of yall with your list. Maybe because I'm almost 30 and alot of you guys are younger that the newer generations listen to some of these.....sigh.....it blows my mind, but I keep it to myself. I will never understand the popularity around Kanye, I never really enjoyed his music, the only song I can really listen to with him without my teeth cringing from his voice is Put On. Sorry if this offends...but I just had to say

don't care about their collaborations. Their solo work is what this would mainly be judged on

commons rapping on resurrection is amazing

Kanyes rapping isn't one of his strong suits. It's not a strength. I love Kanye, but it's not one of the things that makes him great

common is a great artist and very important to hip-hop history. but let me tell you a secret: he's been carried by production most of his career. be, resurrection, one day it'll all make sense--production outshines him on all three.

deltron 3030 is better than anything kendrick has ever done in his life

kendrick hasnt matched his output or # of classic albums

I think any of Kendrick's studio are as good if not better as E-40's best albums.

i think it's highly unlikely you've given e-40 the proper attention.

although @Lamont i'd say gkmc is better than deltron 3030, honestly.

I enjoy all of his albums up to and including Diesel Truckers. Never got into much after that, aside from a song here and there.

My top three would probably be First Come, First Served, Dr. Octogonecolygyst, and Black Elvis / Lost in Space.
