    I don't think it's much of a stretch to call Nina Simone the best live performer in the 20th Century, or at least top 10. Her stream of conciousness ebbed and flowed so naturally through her sets, if you watch this video it's really not hard to see why Kanye loves her. Her rants were top notch all the time ("Sit down, girl. Ay, girl: SIT DOWN." is one of the most powerful concert moments caught on film) and she would even spiral off into her own improvised not-quite-songs, these strange repetitions and melodic loops that will sound all-too familiar to anybody who has seen Ye live. Inb4 plebs can't into Nina
