The discourse around this album is weird and sucks, not even talking about itt, just in general.

Anyways, I personally like this better than his last few albums. I wasn’t really a fan of his So Much Fun and Punk sounds and this is much more of a grimier return to form, a sound I much prefer.

There are some misses, but I really like Jonesboro, Uncle M, Mad Dog, Went Thru It and Want Me Dead. A few more will probably grow on me. I do think he probably recorded his intro verse on an iphone from jail, I just wish it was a better verse and not a half-assed Drake imitation because Drake set him up so well and it could have been a beautiful song.

I understand why they went the direction they did with this album. They wanted Metro to produce new beats and have his name attached to it and add as many big name features to it as they could, hence the cut and pastes.

As a seasoned Gucci fan, I’m very used to the cut and paste production of songs and it doesn’t bother me much. I think people are hyperfocusing on that way too much for narrative-sake when they really can’t even tell.

It is ironic though that they could just take from his unreleased leaks and make multiple classic albums without touching a thing. But I understand why his label needed to go this route.

I like the added songs quite a bit, maybe even more than some of the original tracks. I haven’t listened to the entirety of Metro’s Version since it’s just rearranged tracks I think, although I suspect Metro’s tracklist flows a lot better. Admittedly the original tracklist does feel kinda all over the place at times.
