    How about Israel not trying to cleanse Gaza? You think Egypt is some kind of Utopia (It's Lit!) that can afford refuge for 2 million inhabitants? Egypt faces a huge economical crisis right now. And where are the Gazans supposed to live? In some tent village in the middle of Sinai?

    Yeah even tho I'm generally of the mind that neighboring countries should take in refugees during war it's not like Egypt or Jordan has the size or wealth that many European countries/the USA have. It's true Egypt is a decent sized country but they also already took in 300k refugees from Sudan this year and have about 9 million refugees total according to the AP article worm posted: https://apnews.com/article/palestinian-jordan-egypt-israel-refugee-502c06d004767d4b64848d878b66bd3d

    They're also worried about Israel using it as a way to permanently expel Palestinians.

    The Zionist movement is completely astroturfed. They have infiltrated almost every industry, including the corporate media, the music business, lobbying the government etc. It would practically disappear overnight if money from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) stopped flowing.

    I'm jumping into 'The Conflict' while it's in its 48th season and trying to do as much reading as I can before watching the finale...I can only google so much before I'm curious enough to ask a question here and there-- but I am trying my best to catch up.

    yeah, it's easy to misinterpret tone on forums, and even more so when it comes to discussions about stuff like this. I don't think you were trying to stir the pot at all, but I'd assume as someone with Egyptian heritage @Chrollo probably encounters a lot of yanks/europeans saying ignorant s--- about his country even during peace time...and tensions are higher for obvious reasons.

    reminds me of when @Oldboy had to tell arch dog he wasn't Egyptian like five times because his dumb a--- didn't know that Saudi Arabia was a country
