Nov 26, 2023 I was listening to a podcast called 'The Run-Up' and the interviewer asked his family what I thought was a pretty interesting question: Are you a Republican/Democrat because of what your party does, or because of what the other party does? i.e., are you more anti-opposing-party, or pro-your-party? @LifeSXN
Nov 26, 2023 I started off as a Union Democrat who was against the Cult of Trickle Down Economics. This is what I believed in as a freshman in High School. That hasn't changed since then... but I've watched the Republicans go from the Reaganeconomics Cult.... to Qanon. They don't even live in reality anymore and believe in nothing except for Fascism and weird a--- fairytales. I don't understand how anyone can be a Republican. Logic would dictate that after the last 30 years there would be a Democrat Party and a Party to the Left of them with no Republicans. Until that happens I will 100% support the Democratic Party to slow the end of America and try to reduce the damage that Reagan/Bush/Trump have done to America and the world.
Dec 15, 2023 It’s pretty close: I’d say maybe 60-40 pro-my party. There are certainly disagreements I have with mainstream Democrats on certain issues but those disagreements are far smaller than the fundamental differences I have with Republicans. I mean I think the Republican Party in its current state is a threat to the country.
Dec 15, 2023 I'm Canadian and our main parties are f----- too so i dont really identify with any of them. I vote for whichever most closely matches my priorities at the time between Liberals and NDP but both have serious problems at the party leadership level. I'm a socialist so I could never vote Conservative or Republican, like @Enigma and @reservoirGod said, I think it's a fundamentally evil mindset and slows down our progress as a species.
Dec 16, 2023 Half of the US Population is a few IQ points away from mental re-----tion, so it shouldn't surprise you somebody doesn't believe the same things you do. I'd estimate about ~50% of both Republicans and Democrats are on their sides of the aisle for the wrong reasons, not understanding what they're voting for but taking to political parties like they're baseball teams. On the right you have the xenophobic, racist voters and on the left you have the 'snowflake' woke, fake mentally ill, white people can't experience racism voters. Both parties have a large group of idiots, both parties are actively working to take away freedoms so it's really down to what's less evil. The far left is notable for being selectively progressive, and trying to hinder free speech. If you don't align exactly with certain beliefs you're an alt right lunatic, even if you lean left. But they're not actively trying to stop others from simply existing like the right does so often, even if those existing are mentally ill.
