Dec 5, 2024 Hot Mulligan- Why Would I Watch Oh boy. I need to admit that I am not really a fan of pop punk. I don't hate it or anything but aside from like early Green Day, (American idiot is considered pop punk apparently and I think that album's incredible) and Paramore, I haven't been the biggest fan. I don't really have any big reasons why, it's just not for me. As such, I have to say that I didn't like this album that much. I can recognize that there are really good elements to this record, like the guitars, the vocals (Tades' voice was pretty hard to get into at first but i got used to it) the drums, etc. But my lack of love for the pop punk sound as a whole meant that I just really couldn't get into it. Might check out some "classic" pop punk albums at some point (probably some Blink-182), but as it stands right now, I'm just not that big a fan of the genre (unless Olivia Rodrigo counts) Favorites: No Shoes In The Coffee Shop (Or Socks) Rating: 5/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau

Dec 5, 2024 Makes sense, a big part of me getting into it so quick was because I grew up on that sound and I'm usually pretty picky on it cause a lot of modern pop punk doesn't feel genuine. Happy someone else talked about the guitars cause I think it's a highlight to the energy of the album up there with the screams and lyrics themselves!
Dec 5, 2024 @Justin Trudeau i f--- with that idea, but we should do something to switch it up perhaps whenever we do mixtape rounds. Like for example, the theme of the first ever round can be “fav tracks of 2024” or something like that. Basically, a theme is decided and we have to work with that theme. I hope that makes sense lol

Dec 5, 2024 As cheesy as it sounds, Dookie has a raw sound and feel to it that is just addictive. Matches the energy to some classic albums like Doolittle by Pixies or some later stuff from the Clash.
