Dec 11, 2024 Killswitch Engage - Atonement Favorite tracks: The Signal Fire, I Am Broken Too, I Can’t Be the Only One RIPPER ROO RATING: 7/10 Upon first hearing this I wondered where I heard them before, but then I realized CM Punk from WWE used their song “This Fire Burns” as his theme song in 2006. It makes sense as this is music that makes me wanna get violent. This is totally music that would be playing as I get in an intense and brutal fist fight with my uncle. This is the type of music that makes me wanna bite down so hard I break all of my teeth. This is the type of music that makes me wanna snap my phone in half and punch a hole in my TV. There is obviously super hard vocalization and instrumentation on this album. It’s just so obvious at this point why people choose this type of music as workout music. I wanna run through 12 brick walls. I think the biggest problem with this album though is that after a while the songs can kind of bleed into each other and feel like the same song. A bit more variety would’ve been nice. I likely won’t listen to this a whole lot but it’s a good album for what it sets out to do. @AOTWClub

Dec 12, 2024 d--- the new Dre and Snoop album was pretty underwhelming. Didn’t really have high expectations cause this s--- is 20 years late, still though, a very messy album. Did not need to drop this one chief.
Dec 13, 2024 @AOTWClub Killswitch Engage- Atonement Review So I don't really typically like this kinda music, I don't like this album, I don't hate this album. I listened twice and definitely wouldn't go back to it or anything. I find this sorta music hard to even review lol cause it's not really my thing. I feel like the album had some good riffs on it and some good solos too, also had some catchy choruses. I really liked unleashed, and the signal fire and I am broken too was also good. I'm gonna give this album a 5/10
Dec 14, 2024 Killswitch Engage- Atonement Honestly I can copy/paste most of my review for @jankland album. Except this is way heavier on the screaming, but thats just this type of music. Its not bad, but truly isn't my thing. Its a great band, love instrumentals so its kinda hard to give this a low rating. It's just personal taste. However, the songs that are less heavy, I love them. I Am Broken Too I liked a lot, and I added it to my playlist right away. Same goes for Take Control that only has a little. Also the music itself on that song is so good. And there are other songs where I like the music/instrumentals, and half of the singing parts until the heavy screaming starts. So yeah personal taste aside, it is a solid project. But most of it really isn't my thing. 6/10 @AOTWClub
Dec 14, 2024 Killswitch Engage - Atonement This one’s gonna be kind of short. The instrumentals were pretty good (they wwould go absolutely crazy when benching) and I liked the vocals more than i expected. I agree with what Justin Trudeau and MM said in their reviews though. This just isn’t really my type of music. Despite this, i can still appreciate why people enjoy this genre. And I do wanna add that I did enjoy this album a bit more than the last metalcore record we did. So yeah, not a bad album by any means, just one that i didn’t really click with.
