Jun 8, 2024 I've definitely listened to it more than Cornballs, but this was the better pick for a wider net. Veteran is a more unhinged for sure, this is a f---ing great song:
Jun 9, 2024 Jpegmafia - All my Heroes are Cornballs Favorite songs: All My Heroes are Cornballs, BBW, Free the Frail, Post Verified Freestyle, BascBitchTearGas, Grimy Waifu, Rap Grow Old and Die Skips: a lot sadly Thoughts: On the first page of this album iirc someone compared it to Yeezus but even more experimental. I am not the biggest Yeezus fan, aside from a handful of songs. No surprise that this album is hit or miss for me too. I don't hate it as much as some people, there is some real creativity on here. But most of it, as people predicted, is not for everyone including me. The songs I liked the most are (no surprise) the "safest" songs on here with the least, lets call it special effects. BBW is really catchy btw love that one. It was a fun ride, and some songs I'll revisit, but not the whole album. Thanks @Evad though, its nice to listen to music outside your usual comfort zone! 5/10 @AOTWClub
Jun 9, 2024 Oh s--- just realized I'm up tomorrow. Gonna go play a football match in an hour, have some drinks and then think of something to bless ur ears or annoy you guys to tears
Jun 9, 2024 It’s a bit more critically acclaimed, but less ‘ADHD’ in the way the Danny Brown collab was, if that’s what you’re looking for. I’d probably say the same for LP. I love both of them, (LP might be passing Veteran the more I listen to it). So while Veteran is more unhinged, it’s a bit more traditional in structure and layering, assuming you’re anticipating that really chaotic side of his production that you hear on Scaring The Hoes. You should definitely check both out. I chose this album because it’s way more melodic and less abrasive/unhinged than Veteran (by track 2 you’ll get what I mean). After Veteran, AMHAC really put him on the map among hip-hop fans, especially at the time Kanye fans. And the release thread for this album on here five years ago was very positive.
Jun 9, 2024 Jpegmafia - All my Heroes are Cornballs 8.5/10 fav tracks: Jesus forgive me, I am a thot, Kenan vs Kel, Beta male strategies,PTSD,PRONE!,Free the frail,Buttermilk jesus type beat least fav track: life’s hard, here’s a song about sorrel Maybe its just me but this is the peggy album that I’ve enjoyed the most. Thought he wouldn’t be able to keep up with the quality of VETERAN but the vibes on this one knocked even that album out the water for me. The opening track goes insanely hard;just goes to show how innovative his production is. I feel like this is the album that helped jpeg solidify his sound and really exposed it to the public. I’d describe this album as the weirdest ear candy, though rough around the edges and abrasive at times, it also brings heaps of these melodic and catchy moments which keep you guessing on how he’ll approach the following tracks. I think this album will keep aging extremely well, peggy’s kind of moved on from this softer sound in his latest works and that makes it that much more special imo.
