Jul 9, 2024 I'll get my review in early this week. I've listened to the album twice now and I feel that's enough as again, it's not my genre of music. The Offspring - Americana Score: 5.5/10. Inoffensively offensive rock music. Or offensively inoffensive. Probably works both ways. Basically it's about as main stream as I feel the heavy rock genre can get alongside Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Hearing Pretty Fly for a White Guy was nostalgic as f--- but pretty much everything else just blended into one. The short tracks made this a much easier listen and something that wasn't really the norm back then. Overall, I didn't hate it. But being serious, this is a hip-hop forum. It would be nice to listen to some actual hip-hop that I haven't heard before. No more of this edgy "oh, let's really push their limits for s----s and giggles" malarky please. @AOTWClub

Jul 9, 2024 Yeah when I first joined in 2015 I was just a teenager and would lurk a lot as well as take like year long breaks. (I still kind of do). The forum really only gets active and exciting when there’s real news about the next Eminem album anymore unfortunately. I agree though that this thread was a great idea, so year major props to @Justin Trudeau for helping keep things alive and lighter in tone after all the derailing that was going on beforehand. Overall I’ve really enjoyed experiencing different kinds of music I wouldn’t have otherwise checked out, as well as motivating me to be more active on the site.
Jul 9, 2024 I wasn't really trying to push limits with my pick, I wanted to pick a brotha lynch hung album lol I feel like it woulda pushed more limits than this I mainly picked this one because it's about 40 mins shorter and knew em was dropping Friday. Anyways still a decent score for you not liking the genre!

Jul 9, 2024 The Offspring - Americana Favorite tracks: The Kids Aren’t Alright, Staring at the Sun, Americana Skips: Welcome, Pretty Fly (Reprise) OVERALL SCORE: 7/10 Going into this I thought I never heard songs from this band, but apparently I’ve heard “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)”, “The Kids Aren’t Alright”, and “Why Don’t You Get a Job” in the past. I like the band’s energy, it’ll be good for working out. I also like some of the chiller vibes near the end of the album. It just sucks that the album ends with “Pretty Fly (Reprise)”, it feels like they’re trying to be funny but it falls flat. I don’t know how often I’ll go back to this outside of working out but it’s a decent pick for sure! I just don’t listen to this type of music often. I thought some of the songwriting was pretty nice. @AOTWClub
