Aug 18, 2024 Could the delay in submissions/tallying be affecting the album of the week? I'm fine with wrapping up the tallying tomorrow if it helps us stay on schedule.
Aug 18, 2024 Still planning on listening just got hit with a flu bug of some sort so Ive been flat on my a--- sleeping all weekend. Nah it's good to get people out of their comfort zone, myself included.
Aug 18, 2024 I told @Yeez to pick his album today, he liked it so he knows. No rush @Yeez just post it at some point today! Also I liked your pick, it's fun getting different genres and eras of music
Aug 18, 2024 For some reason out of all of the albums I've listened to in my life, this record has been locked as my pick since the very beginning. Yeez's pick is none other than... KINGS OF CRUNK by Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. (Note: The streaming version of this album is missing 2 tracks ["The Weedman (Skit)" and "The Weedman"] . Not too big of a change, but worth mentioning) Aside from being a defining album of the crunk era, this record encompasses a lot of the greatest parts of early 2000's Southern Rap. Memorable adlibs, a good amount of rap and R&B cuts AND one of the earliest appearances of rap legend Pitbull. This record has been on repeat for me this entire summer (great gym music) and I hope y'all enjoy it!!! @AOTWClub
Aug 18, 2024 This weeks Album chosen by @Yeez is Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz- The Kings of Crunk I'll tally up Iron Maiden on Wednesday instead of Tuesday, I'm on nights so might not have time Tuesday! Ripperroo: 7/10 Jankland: 7/10 Justin Trudeau: 5.5 Omar Little: 4/10 Stepdad enjoyer: 7/10 Michael myers: 6.5/10 Gimp: 4/10 DiggleDogg69: 6.5/10 Wreckless: 7.5/10 55/90= 6.1
Aug 18, 2024 Also streaming in general, amount of streams started getting prioritized so shorter and shorter songs outside of just punk bands who were seen as going against the grain with short songs back then lol
Aug 18, 2024 God d---, I'm so far behind, excuse me, I've been busy pouring fuel on homeless people's soups
Aug 18, 2024 I saw Lil Jon in concert at a festival, police had to tell him to calm down cause the crowd was going f---ing nuts
Aug 18, 2024 On a related note I saw the Ying Yang Twins at my college in 2014 for $15 and they were so drunk they could barely stand and were spraying Patron on the audience which got in my eye. I don't know if they even rapped at all and were mostly just hype men for their own mp3 files. One of the worst concerts I've ever been to and I loved every second of it.
Aug 18, 2024 That's much better than going to see Playboi Carti but getting a stage double who just yelled "yeahh" the whole time
Aug 19, 2024 College back in session this week, time for my big SX80 come back Two reviews tomorrow (although they might end up on the shorter side due to it being so late in the week already and I missed the Cube review period by a significant margin lol)
Aug 19, 2024 Carti is a villain like MF DOOM, he stood on a tank with flamethrowers and screeched over remixed instrumentals. It was like Ying Yang twins with 1000x the budget and I also loved every second of it. Seeing Carti in Atlanta was legit one of the most fun shows I've ever been to.
