Sep 1, 2024 I’m off the forum for a day and my entire flow gets stolen! im kidding im kidding, love seeing how yalls personal leaderboards are looking! When there’s ties I just sort them alphabetically because I’d lose my mind trying to be like “hmmm this album is a stronger 8.5 than this 8.5!”

Sep 1, 2024 Absolutely not my plan anymore, I have so many albums I wanna see this group’s opinion on hahah I just threw a bunch of my favorite albums in a wheel decider website and when it’s my week I’ll spin the wheel (I can’t decide anything for s---)
Sep 1, 2024 Very interesting, the cover reminds me of cologne. Over expensive s-----y cologne, or that good s---? Guess we’ll find out
Sep 1, 2024 Yeah I think I might resort to a wheel as well after my next pick unless a strong desire for a certain album overtakes me chronic indecisiveness lmao
Sep 2, 2024 Got hella free time so my review for this album will be out in record time, already on third listen lol. gonna let it breathe a bit though
Sep 3, 2024 Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That s--- Gold review Was pulled in by the smooth production and flows but the more I listened to this album the more I found the content of it obnoxious, felt like a prolonged lecture over soulful production. Some of the songs got old real quick because of their repetitive structures. The storytelling here feels kind of forced to me, the project sacrifices vibes for infinite narratives that drown in their own blandness. This thing’s tracklist feels like a series of preachy songs that, when on other rap albums, take up a song or two of the runtime and ,hence, fit well; they aren’t overwhelming cause they’re fewer in number, done better, or just fit better with the tapes’ pacing. The album tries hard to impress yet falls short because of its reliance on safe song structures and repetitive approach to song writing, subject matter has a bunch of variety but what confuses me is how similarly all of these topics are approached. Enjoyed the production though, When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That s--- Gold is sonically pleasing and engaging, Ant killed it. However, I think Slug does not and will never work for me because of his fake-it-till-you-make-it approach to developing a personality on the mic, which is based on his attempts to cover a variety of themes via a same, familiar method. Direct art is good, but loses its intensity when absolutely nothing is left to the imagination, Slug’s verses sometimes tend to feel like sections of an amazon life guide handbook that were placed atop of hiphop beats. They want to be extremely deep but the execution just isn’t there, which is a shame cause I f--- with how his delivery sounds. @DiggleDogg69 said the cover reminded him of cologne and I can see it. Sadly, to me, the project has shown itself to be akin to one of those wanna-be fancy bath, body, & hair gift sets you’d get as presents from distant relatives; these come in a fancy box and try so hard to seem luxurious and fancy, but in the end, it’s nothing more than toiletries. Atmosphere takes Slug’s bland and uninspired performances on the microphone; these cover a wide array of content (almost like a 3 in 1 shampoo lol, sorry I’ll stop with the body wash double entendre) but excel at pretty much none of them. The all over the place subject matter is then crammed into the fancy name-brand box packaging of Ant’s production, in hopes of it becoming an adored product and a welcome gift to the listeners. To me, at least, it fails. There are moments on this album, listed in my ‘favorites’ section, where I feel like the songs achieve what they set out to do. Should have known better and Yesterday sound much more genuine and natural than some other stuff on here, The Waitress is fun and more interesting than most of the other tracks here. Also, that chorus on Wild wild horses still continues to confuse me. Favorites: shoulda known better, Yesterday, The Waitress, Parts of ‘In her Music Box’ Least favorites: Puppets, Guarantees(god I hated this), Wild Wild Horses 4.5/10
Sep 3, 2024 Not bad for white rappers. I'm about to get a 3rd listen in today. Review coming tonight or tomorrow.
Sep 3, 2024 my bad guys i decided to do the smart thing and prioritize school work, review will be here soon
Sep 3, 2024 Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That s--- Gold Favorite tracks: none Worst tracks: The Skinny, Dreamer, Shoulda Known, You (horrible singing), Guarantees, Wild Wild Horses (god awful hook), In Her Music Box OVERALL RATING: 3/10 I was just joking around about being glad this album got a bad review but holy s--- this album genuinely sucks. I absolutely hate this guy’s delivery and since a lot of this is storytelling tracks that only makes it worse. I can’t get into the storytelling at all, the stories aren’t even interesting or told creatively. This album is full of bad hooks as well. When he’s not singing terribly, he’s doing elementary school a--- rhymes. This dude sounds like Jack Harlow without charisma. I blame this dude for Macklemore. This guy is a Knox Hill a--- rapper, a section eighty a--- rapper. I found his lyric “for every swallow there’s another to follow” summarizes the album pretty well. He’s shoveling s--- down our throats for 15 tracks one after another. This is an hour of my life I’ll never get back. This album is the definition of corny. Absolute dogshit and I’m not even kidding. It’s not even because Gimp picked this album. Anyone could’ve picked this and I would say the same thing. I absolutely hate this type of rap. Most of the tracks felt like the same song. I don’t even get how people make music this corny, it’s like you literally have to go out of your way to be this bad. There’s some good instrumentals on here though which is why I’m not giving it a 0/10. Plus, the guy isn’t actually terrible at rapping. I just hate his delivery and nothing about his storytelling impresses me or gets me invested. @AOTWClub
