Flacko Too Blessed To Be Humble

    Jun 10, 2015
Recently my laptop makes a lot of noise and is overheating. Videos on flash player on firefox/chrome start stuttering after about 10 minutes. I've opened it up and cleaned the inside from dust and also use a cooling pad. But it gets very hot in like 20 mins and becomes very slow. Sometimes it will shutdown on its own. I even restored it by deleting everything but this has not helped. Its a couple of years old.

    Anyone have any advice?

If your drive is clicking, that's a really bad sign. I'd hit up Craigslist and see if there's anybody local who would take a look at it for a small fee. You should probably start saving up for a new laptop.

Oh, in that case it just sounds like a bad fan. Hit up a local shop or somebody on Craigslist to have it replaced. I'd still suggest having them make sure that's the problem in the first place.

More than likely the fan is coated with dust, my desktop got like that the other day, I had to clean the fan off..and now it's running quite well. You may need to get a can of compressed air, and see if that helps.

It is really hard to clean the whole laptop. You can't clean everything without taking most of the components off

Sounds like you need to take the fan out and clean the heatsink
