Jun 11, 2015Maybe J. Cole one day, but right now, I only appreciate him. But 5 years from now, depending on what he does, that could change.
Ayumi Hamasaki though, yes. I throw her name around a lot, but she's she's kind of irrelevant on forums like this since she's a Japanese singer. But I've followed her enough to be able to call her a role model.
Her life and career is pretty inspirational to me. She is an amazing lyricist who really is self-aware and wise. I was able to appreciate that a lot going through my teenage years. The work ethic she has is also admirable. She makes mistakes too, like a normal person, but is able to understand them and grow from them more than the average person. Anyway, she's bae. Breaking language barriers and s---. Even though she speaks English and lives in LA. But whatever lol.

Jay Electronica
I've never had such a high admiration for someone that is barely in the social media or public eye. When he raps, best believe I'm listening.
The journeys he has taken have also inspired me. I've traveled to a lot of countries myself, but I don't think I would of absorbed what I was seeing in the right context if it wasn't for Jay Elect.
Another thing is exclusivity. When it comes to my social media outlets, I hardly speak or post about anything, but when I do best believe it's something worthy of your time to view my post or picture that I'm sharing. I'm much more careful who I share my opinions or knowledge with. I'm only interested in people that are interested or want to better themselves.
I'm not muslim, but I do love some of the teachings it provides. I've always been well rounded when it comes to religion, but after listening to Jay Elect I knew I had to take my knowledge of religion to another level.
Overall, I'm such a huge fan of this man. He has given me so many gems to live by and that have helped me with the adversities and challenges that I've seen in my life thus far.
I know people hate him for his lack of music, and I did too for a bit. I had to realize and appreciate artists that release their content the way they want to and when they want to.Minaya, Oldboy, FlawlessT and 1 other person like this. -

In this thread discuss about whose your favorite music role model and why.
For me I gotta go with 50 Cent. Man was a hustler from the beginning. His entire career he represents how strong of a character he is. From having his dream taken away and with all odds against him, he came back and made a Multi-Platinum Debut album.Pablo, VMO2, Oldboy and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

J Cole
Was able to come from a family with very little and graduate college with a communications degree. That's also what I'm going for. Plus his music is very relatable. -
