    If/when Aldo pulls out,

I bet Conor will still fight, he will face either Edgar or Mendes...

But, will the UFC risk Conor "Cash Cow" McGregor against a wrestler?

    I'm not sure...

goddamnit mma gods... why can't we have nice things?

edit: I totally forgot Rory/Lawler is on this card too. They may end up becoming the Main Event

    Dana tweeted 'Relax everyone'

aka he just paid Jose a shitload of cash to fight with a f----- rib. then if he loses, they can just do an instant rematch based off him "not being 100%"

From what I've gathered, Edgar is who they will go with against McGregor if Aldo does have to pull out

I just want to see Conor fight. You push that fight back and Aldo will get hurt again, im all set. knew it was too good to be true.

Sry Aldo i know you complain about money a lot but maybe dont get injured every other training camp and you could earn some dough.

UFC 125, 133, 149, 153 and 176 are the other PPV fights Aldo has pulled out of in case anyone was wondering...

In light of recent reports regarding the status of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, UFC has received official medical confirmation from several doctors that Aldo did not suffer a broken rib. Following a review of the scans, it has been determined that the champion suffered a bone bruise to his rib and cartilage injury during training.

With this news, Aldo has expressed that he has every intention of facing Conor McGregor at UFC 189.

While Aldo has indicated that he will compete in Las Vegas on July 11, UFC has confirmed a contingency plan. No.1 featherweight contender Chad Mendes will face McGregor for the interim UFC featherweight championship in the event Aldo cannot compete.

UFC remains committed to delivering the featherweight and the welterweight championship fights at UFC 189 during UFC International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

Dana needs to do this to Jose, just to be safe.

Delighted the fight is still on

But shall Conor win the excuse is already there for an immediate rematch

And if somehow Aldo doesn't fight and mendes steps in and wins who wants to see Aldo mendes 3 ?

good read about the situation from Conor's coach John Kavanagh

lol at conor's reaction "It was UFC president Dana White who called me and asked how we felt about Chad Mendes stepping in to fight Conor for the belt. Conor was sleeping at the time so I walked into his room and told him it could be Mendes instead. He opened one eye, said ‘They’re all the same’ and then went back to sleep. That’s as far as any negotiation went."

so apparently the brazilian doctors say Aldo's rib is broken... the American docs say its not...

either way I dont think Aldo will make weight.

Aldo/Mendes 2 was awesome, i wouldn't be totally opposed to seeing that fight again.

The way Brazilian ppl are i wouldnt be surprised if their doc just didnt want Aldo to lose. Brazilian ppl are over the top prideful.

But ya Aldo has had trouble making weight before, seems likely that we will get the Mendes fight.

I feel a little bit bad for Frankie, but i think they chose Mendes as the back up plan because him and Conor have beef as well and Frankie might be the only FW that Conor hasnt really bad mouthed. Think the worst thing hes said about him is he should be a BW.

I feel like Conor has a better chance against Chad than he does Frankie. I just hope Conor can hang with a wrestler like he says he can...
