Sep 27, 2024 I already heard this at the concert but didn’t listen again. I liked it then and I like it now. It’s actually growing on me with more listens roo
Sep 27, 2024 Future has the perfect voice for trap just like Jeezy. It’s just most of their music sounds the same.
Sep 27, 2024 Her man quiet, not a peep Broke his heart, PTSD Hold his chest, let it breathe Let it breathe, n----s scheme And I got a priest, he got a cross Get out of line, send him to God I shed a tear, pray for a loss
Sep 27, 2024 alright, so here's my take on it...it's trap & R&B, and I like it a little bit more than Dancing in the flames. The beat low-key gives me Halloween vibes and I dig that. it's produced in part by Pharrell which is also cool, the last time I think he worked with Abel was all the way back in the Kiss Land days. but I don't like Playboi Carti's part at all. I get that there's an audience for music but I just don't dig it and I think for The Weeknd, the art just doesn't mesh as well. I never really liked the whole new school triplet whatever type flows that rappers do, but Future I feel like would have at least been better. I would have preferred someone like Kendrick, tbh. outside of that, I think Abel's line about cutting risks is too much even if it's a reference to past lyrics about himself. his singing on the song also is more low-key than what he's capable of, I've had the song on repeat and I just hope there are more songs with this type of tone on the album rather than Dancing the flames
Sep 28, 2024 Weird rollout so far, especailly after the commercial failure of DITF (which i did like) I guess this is going to be quite a polarizing album.
Sep 28, 2024 I wouldn't call it a commercial failure. it got to #14. I think his last polarizing album, or the last album that even wasn't like universally loved may have been Beauty Madness, but that was also his commercial debut and it still has his greatest ever record (The Hills). I'd like to believe he didn't peak with Blinding Lights, so I'm just gonna go with the hope that Timeless is a softball & he's got better tracks that'll be singles from the upcoming album.
Sep 28, 2024 Timeless is his biggest single in a long time though, and his biggest streaming debut ever
Sep 28, 2024 such a shame, young gs love gay rappers so much. Every single from Dawn was 10 times better than these.
Sep 29, 2024 Logic is whack. I just don't listen to weirdo femenine rappers, leave that s--- to Lil Nas.
Sep 30, 2024 I hate both of the singles the f---in BBC crew line is so cringe man, his writing has gone so downhill
Sep 30, 2024 I feel like he’s always had corny lines like that, at least ever since Beauty Behind The Madness era
Sep 30, 2024 u really think so? I think the last video like this he had with a similar concept was Reminder, and I liked that a lot better. this is seems like a typical hip hop music video and there's not inherently anything bad about that but the dependency of video vixens never really appealed to me. the line about cutting wrists is what *kinda* ruins the song for me. Abel can be as braggadocious as he wants, make us all feel like losers for not having what he has but like...don't tell your fan base to suicide for it
Sep 30, 2024 Yeh I have an issue with that too, as if he hasnt spoke about cutting his own wrists or taking his own life in the past. Just in general though I feel like his writing got lazy af
Sep 30, 2024 Yup I really think it’s cool, and I think it fits the song. It’s nothing groundbreaking or amazing but I still f--- with it at the end of the day. As someone who has self-harmed and had suicidal thoughts I take no offense to the wrist cutting line either. He’s not telling his fans to commit suicide. I think he is talking to his ops like Drake.
