Hello to all at Section Eighty (I remember when @Koolo thought this was going to be a Kendrick Lamar forum lmfao. Now it’s still just an Eminem Thread Forum like it always has been.)

I digress. For those that don’t know, some call me a legend around these parts. Been around since Rap Basement, used to be a mod until @JMG blamed me for abusing the Twitter account and posting about MAGA and cream pies. That’s a story for another time.

I used to be very active on this forum, top commentator every month, mod status, etc. Unfortunately the new crowd that was ushered in around MBDTF A and B was even too weird and rude for my tastes. Felt like I was talking to school shooter types for the most part. Lots of hate and creepy s--- I didn’t want to be a part of and still don’t.

For those that care, life has been good. This feels like a good time to pop in and enjoy (or not) the new album before I leave for another four years.

Also for the those that don’t know, I have controversial opinions of Eminem’s music (as I’ve been told). Most call me a troll, but that is just not true. I have plenty of people on SXN80 that I have talked to personally that know this isn’t a character I’m playing (that’s just f---ing weird. Playing a character for 20 years since 2004? Not even I am that dedicated or r-----ed.)

@DKC @Ricky @JMG @M Solo @bobby Creekwater can all attest to this. Also, if you are so inclined, please feel free to look back 15 years of my post history since 2011 StudioLeaks if it’s still accessible. h--- even Rap Basement if you can. History doesn’t lie or troll, gentlemen.

Eminem is one of my favorites artists, obviously. I’m in my 30’s. Old enough to have been around and listened to the overrated SSLP when it dropped. At the time is was magnificent. Hasn’t aged well, but once again that’s something you can ask me about on this thread. Feel free to treat this as an AMA if you want.

So I have seen, heard, and experienced it all with Eminem through the decades. We all like Eminem for different reason. I prefer a certain style of his. To give you more context, I believe his best era was 2011-2017. Again, feel free to ask me about it if you are interested.

I’m doing my best to approach this with no bias towards the album. I could see this album going either way honestly. Looking forward to sharing the experience with all of you. Let’s get the discussion going, and thanks for listening.

Ok I have time to review one song! Just threw it on shuffle! Lets go!!!

100% not joking, first song is Renaissance Man.

Ok he just shouted out Hawk Tuah girl. I respect that, she is hot. Are they f---ing each other? I could see it.

Oh s--- Encore Em monotone flow. “With balls in his durag?” Not understanding this line? Is he wearing the durag as underwear? What a line to start the album lmfao.

Edwards Sciccorhands? Ok Relapse Em. Big fan of Edward. Classic Tim Burton movie Sweeney Todd.

Ok beat is sinister, but he is stuck rapping about nothing. Just rhyming words. No depth, no meaning. This is reminding me of premonition without having something to say.

Oh just heard the word r---. Here we go. His voice sounds good. Oh just also said elephantitis. Ok so far this song is going nowhere fast (classic).

Kind of choppy flow. His voice sounds possibly altered? Auto tune? Nvidia ai?

Oh ok getting good now we are stepping into the mind of a hater. Yep true Kenny’s album didn’t have any bangers. Em is right about that one. we are getting somewhere. Oh wait was that a shot at Lil Wayne? Nah can’t be. Something lamer. Oh I see he is acting as a hater.

See I told you guys Joyner’s album wasn’t corny and Em agrees! He also agrees that Shady’s new stuff is not worse (for the most part).

What is 36 chambers? Is that a holocaust thing? Who is picking apart a Picasso Em? No one.

Ok wow so that has to easily be his worst album opener of all his solo albums?

Beat is pretty good. Mix of relapse and encore type beat. Sinister. Will hopefully be the tone of the album. That is about where the good stuff ends. His flow is all over the place and kind of boring. What is with his voice? Almost sounds fake. Already using the word r--- 1 minute in which doesn’t bode well for the rest of the album… So much rapping with nothing to say until the last 30 seconds. Usually his openers are absolutely bonkers. Disappointed tbh. It felt it could have been so much more!

Great question. I did touch on this on a previous lengthy post on this thread. Did you read all that?

I can go more into detail if you want, but the gist is Relapse was Em having fun and you can totally tell. Em does have fun on MMLP, but also a lot of the hate and anger is real. The angry white boy persona was real. Sure, he won’t go out and do the acts he is saying on the records, but a lot of the things he said at the time were f----- up. I mean on Relapse he was saying all this f----- up s---, but doing it with a dope Arabian accent lmfao. It was a fun concept album after a long hiatus. His flow, cadence, and rhyme schemes are also top notch. Better than MMLP imo. More polished.

People think because I have MMLP so low that I hate the album or something. I still genuinely enjoy the album and would still rate it around 6/10. I don’t think Em has a bad album per se.

I just don’t think the sound of the MMLP or early 2000’s era has aged well. It sounds so dated, and the lyrics are not cool or edgy anymore. Dre did his thing, and there are plenty of classics but it ain’t the chronic 2001. I agree that Relapse lyrics also haven’t aged well, but at least they aren’t serious in the slightest. Relapse also is one of the best produced albums of all time imo. Dre killed it, and those beats still sound fresh and unique today.

It’s all just opinions dawg, and I’m just trying to express mine. Music is subjective and a lot of it was the good times, feelings, and nostalgia we had when these albums released. Maybe Relapse is too high on my list and MMLP is too low. I’ll have to go back soon and relisten to some of these albums.

Yes, I did flunk JMG’s courses multiple times. However, there are some things you can’t learn from school. Street smarts is one of them, and I can say JMG is clueless when it comes to the art of street posting.

Many of the greats in our society; Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Obama, Alex Jones, Trump, Bezos, and Rosa Parks all dropped out of high school, but went on to achieve greatness.

my grandmother is dead and I’m allergic to cats, so I’m not sure where JMG got those ideas? Must’ve been the bath salts (he is from Florida after all). Lastly, as much as it hurts to admit, yes I used to have Body Odor, but that was almost a decade ago. @DKC bought me some deodorant for winning the best Kanye album bracket challenge in 2016. It’s all been uphill from there.

Ok sweet it’s the release news reporter! Ok so not sure what going on, but sounds like Slim has Em locked up and is making him watch a news report of the Black Lives Matter protests. Cancel himself? Wtf does that even mean? Moms spaghetti! Love that place! Ok so sounds like this album is going to be bashing midgets and trannies? I’m definitely not down with that but I’m already here so have to listen.

5/10 skit rating. Overall doesn’t do much other than I really enjoyed the throwback to the Relapse reporter.

Dude I absolutely hate Worm. Actually hate is the wrong word; that implies I care about him which I don’t. He uses the same old tired jokes. Just ignore him, then once he sees no one responds or cares, he disappears.

He tries so hard to fit in with the legends of this forum like JMG, M Solo, DKC, Ricky, etc, and I. I know it eats him alive knowing he isn’t considered a top dawg with the elites and that no one actually like him or cares about his opinion.
