Jul 15, 2024 This tracklist is tricky. I don't think there's a clear divide of great and bad tracks. A lot of tracks are in the middle of the road, good in aspects, weak in others. I'd cut Habits, Road Rage, Bad Ones and Guess Whos Back (skit) to lighten the bloat a bit. I'd keep Temporary and Somebody Save Me on, but have the mixing and vocal processing FX changed so that it fits with the other songs on the album. ^ These above changes still wouldn't address the fundamental issues with the album. But it could bump it up a point.

Jul 16, 2024 i mean in fairness then the concept doesn't work as well as he is trying to put the slim shady ego to death and just be marshall from here on out. i think he maybe shoulda done a double album which concluded with gc2 and then the second album was all marshall but with the perspective of how he is looking at things now that shady is gone. which is essentially what the last few tracks were but he could have clearly separated and then expanded on the new marshall w/out shady making the concept easier to understand and digest

Jul 16, 2024 - An intro skit to set the scene would have been useful. - Nostalgia and comedy value aside, Brand New Dance does not get 3 verses. It would be a fun snippet, a verse and a hook and no more. - Drop Head Honcho and Road Rage. Maybe make Bad One a snippet. - Drop the rehash Ken Kaniff skit. - Re-order so GC2 is the climax and Temporary follows as an outro. If you're going off into dreamland, more time with the personas arguing, better establishing each character, and deconstructing both.

So yeah, that seems out of place being after GC2 when 'shady's dead' even though he plays it off as a dream... he still has 'Temporary' & 'Somebody Save Me' after it, as if 'he's Eminem now'. - Change the order of the last few tracks... I think having 'Temporary' then into 'Bad One', then 'Tobey' is weird. This is how I'd lay it out... 1. Renaissance 2. Habits 3. Trouble 4. Brand New Dance 5. Evil 6. All You Got (skit) 7. Lucifer 8. Antichrist 9. Fuel 10. Bad One 11. Houdini 12. Breaking News (skit) 13. Guilty Conscience 2 14. Head Honcho 15. Guess Who's Back (skit) 16. Tobey 17. Temporary 18. Somebody Save Me To me that's much better. The first... 9 tracks, are ordered so well. Em always f---s up sequencing somewhere along the line. Luckily no tracks here stick out - production wise or rapping wise - as in feeling they should have been on a diff album. Even 'Temporary', amazingly. Amazing bc @ Skylar Grey and an 'emotional song'. And 'Save Me'. Both were put together very well, very tastefully for Em. But, I just think the last handful of tracks are ordered weirdly... 'Head Honcho' is great after GC2, he's rapping as Em, like he's just won the battle... then I think the 'Guess Who's Back' skit makes sense, as it's like 'okay now I'm Em again, n guess who's back?', then Tobey... nice lil Em track, then end on the two emotional notes he wants. But, how he has it... of going from Head Honcho straight into Temporary, then back into Bad One which sounds like Shady... is just, bit of a mess.

Jul 17, 2024 I love the album as is. I appreciate hypothetically nitpicking / throwing out opinions. Still, I love this freakin album in general (also love the sequencing et al The Common Theme amongst each of us with our own opinions on how the tracklist coulda been altered, is that we are not Em himself, therefore we'll never truly know nuances of why he chose specific order along with cutting/keeping tracks! Either way, I think it's great cheahcheahcheahcheahcheahchehahcheah
Jul 19, 2024 I bumped this playlist a few times at work today and quite like it: 1. Renaissance 2. Habits 3. Trouble 4. Houdini 5. Lucifer 6. Antichrist 7. Fuel 8. Brand New Dance 9. Evil 10. All You Got (skit) 11. Somebody Save Me 12. Bad One 13. Breaking News (skit) 14. Guilty Conscience 2 15. Tobey 16. Temporary This drops Road Rage (cause it sucks) and Head Honcho (cause it doesn't fit) and reduces Brand New Dance to a 2 minute interlude. Solid project in all.
Jul 19, 2024 Brand new dance should have been another song in the vein of Hello, Im shady or Im back. get rid of road rage because it is garbage and the album should have closed with something way better, could have been the exact same subject but a darker sadder version even so it flows better back around to renaissance. I really love the album, mainly the first half but he was close to an amazing album here.
