Jul 30, 2024 Marvel has been having an amazing comeback year. And I think this is a smart move, cuz it’s making noise. Even my friends that fell off from the MCU are genuinely excited for this next Avengers movie with RDJ. it’s 100% gonna be a variant. And I’m cool with it, cuz I think he could finally give us a good Multiverse narrative. Marvel been failing at making new characters stick. Only Wandavision and maybe Loki did this multiverse stuff right. And of course Spider-Man and Deadpool, but that’s mainly for our Nostalgic faves to comeback. And that probably why they picked RDJ too. I mean he is the face and the start of the entire franchise, so I think it’s pretty cool that he will be the biggest Marvel villain. With a good script, and the Russo bros back. I actually think they might do it again!!! Infinity war and Endgame type beat
Jul 31, 2024 the Russos are getting paid $80 million to direct Avengers 5 and apparently Iron Man himself is getting paid a lot more (maybe hundreds of millions) to be Dr. Doom so in the end it's just all about the money

Aug 1, 2024 if that is what you're worried about, then I can definitely tell you not to worry lol. We know RDJ is a brilliant actor and he'll nail whatever script is given to him. in my opinion though they are f---ing up just by going this way.
Aug 3, 2024 It’s more so me being scared of the WRITING being corny, I know for sure RDJ will k--- it. I also feel like RDJ wouldn’t have signed on if the idea they had for the character was a---, so that makes me less scared

Aug 6, 2024 RDJ signed on because they (probably) paid him hundreds of millions of dollars to come back. the article said the Russos are getting $80 million and Tony Stark himself is getting significantly more than that. The ongoing theory now is that he only agreed to come back if he could play Dr. Doom and they just agreed. So I agree with everyone else who is saying this feels like a copout and a desperate act; knowing this is their best chance at a box office redemption. even though box office wise I think they have been doing fine...just because every single installment of the MCU isn't record breaking doesn't mean the franchise itself isn't a juggernaut anymore
Aug 6, 2024 Doom can change appearances. He will take the appearancr of RDJ to dismantle the avengers. And a lot of them off. in secret wars Tom Holland Spider Man will be back and accidentally meet RDJ which will be crazy emotional. Because it will be the first time Tom realizes RDJ is back. however, Victor will pretend to recognize TH because he is playing the part, and he needs TH because he is the anchor and it’s all emotional until tom realizes… that everyone supposedly forgot about him?? and the real Victor doom will be revealed. will be epic
Aug 14, 2024 that's probably going to be exactly what they're gonna go for; the heart strings of the characters, and subsequently the audience's feelings in response. and given the production value of the MCU I'm sure the end result is going to be great, but still...the fact that this is the direction they chose to go in comes off as desperate.
