    I mostly sample strictly from dark jazz, doom jazz, jazz noir, downtempo, trip-hop, lo-fi, atmospheric music etc. Tbh I'm not a big fan of the classic soul/funk sampling that has taken precedence in the last 25 years or so. I really f--- with that gritty muddy lo-fi sound.. hence my love for L'Orange.

    When I first started sampling, I wanted to be like The Heatmakerz though..lol

    Way back when I started to produce and rap. I had that 2003-2006 gangsta pillinem phase going on. Lol I thought I was a G. I recorded a s--- ton of raps back then and I listened to a ton of them about a couple months back after finding an old hard drive in my garage and I laughed so hard that I cried. out of maybe at least 100 recordings there were 2 that I considered decent

    lol.. I have like 5 or 6 CD-R's with all beats on it; that I produced from 2005-2008 and I just shook my head, because that's not the sound I'm into anymore..my production style has evolved greatly.

    it's great to look back on that kinda stuff though, to see where you came from, and how you are today
