Obie Trice. Two decent releases on Shady Records, one of them being a classic

Obie and it's not even close. He contributed more to the label with features alone than Yela has all together. Don't get me wrong Love Story is a great album but Cheers is a classic and SROM is pretty d--- good too.

    Cheers > Love Story
    SROM > Radioactive
Obie on The Re-Up > Yela on Shady XV
    Obie's features > Yela's features

    However..
Yela before Shady > Obie after Shady

Obie in his prime was better, but I'd rather listen to a 2015 Yelawolf album than Obie

I didnt know this would be a question that would require any kind of debate.

    Quite simply, Obie.

    Yelawolf without a question.

Obie was only a product of the revival of the gangster era back in 2003 and would have made it anywhere if it wasn't for the social status of his music. Features on his albums. Timabaland and Dre production, and when he lost all those things, nobody cared anymore. Literally gave zero f---s and that's why his last album sold under 10k first week. He wasn't anything special. He was an average gangster rapper with almost absolutely nothing new to bring to the table. And I love Obie.

Yelawolf on the other hand has released a handful of projects that far outweigh anything Obie Trice will ever put out both creatively and artistically. He is far more ecstatic and has a greater grip and understanding of music overall. The only reason why most of you are putting Obie over Yela is purely based on the nostalgic factor and not knowing enough of Yela's music to make a proper decision.

Because honestly, only way any of you listen to a Obie or Yela song is if it has an Eminem sticker attached to it, and most of Obie's music suffered from that, as compared to Yela's rare Em collaborations.

"Street cred won't put bullets in your gun, but it might put a stray bullet in your son, daughters, uncles, aunts, friends and loose ends become tangled up when it comes undone"

Probably some of the realest and most slept on bars in hip hop.
