While I enjoy AC/DC almost just as much, i'll have to go with Metallica. There are just more Metallica songs that I like.

I'd take slayer over Metallica as well but could never get into AC/DC no matter how hard I tried at one point

Metallica was more versatile, better lyrically and could do the slow soft songs as well as their harder edge ones.

It was the other way around for me; Metallica was one of the first bands that I listened to in my early teens, but I feel like it was the step before getting into better or harder (for me, at least) stuff. I enjoy many of their songs, but I grow tired of them after a while.

AC/DC on the other hand were always closer to my style. I could drive around listening to tnt all day

I can understand how you can grow tired of Metallica I don't see them as a band you can listen to normally. They just seem to be the perfect band when you're in a certain mood. Regardless of my only p-----s vote for AC/DC comment I respect them as a band just not my style.

AC/DC isnt for me either. They don't have any hard hitting s--- really. Plus I'm not a big fan of his voice. Songs like TNT and Back in black are just eh to me. I can't find the right word to describe it

AC/DC's biggest hits have been ruined by their use in pop culture, to me at least. It's similar to why you never make your alarm a song that you love because you'll end up hating it.

Yeah, but I wasn't around when those were released so my primer for the group and their sound was those singles and the overuse/commercialization of them. Completely colored my perspective on them. I'm not answering this critically ("who do you prefer"). as I don't think I've heard enough from either to answer to this question intelligently. Just on preference.

well before you vote you and try to discuss maybe you should listen to more than some singles from each band and maybe you should actually listen to the albums and art they created.

thats the sad thing about most classic rock bands. most people only know the singles and outplayed s---. people are missing out on so many gems.

"Who do you prefer" is the question I was responding to. Considering all I've heard from either band is their most popular material, there's not an unfair advantage for either. Sorry if I want to voice my inoffensive preference without being an expert on dadrock.

    ACDC. Thunderstruck is the GOAT...

Never really got into Metallica except for a few songs, not for me.
