Well.. I'm always down for free s--- =p
Good luck getting your times down! Are you not having any rest days? I find improving times much harder than the stamina side. I can easily push myself though the physical and mental side of wanting to stop but I cant keep up a fast pace. I've considered downloading a metronome or something to help with my cadence, which would hopefully help with that.

If you can try running outdoors. I can easily go for over an hour running outside but if I'm on a treadmill I'm done after about 15minutes. It feels so much longer. Having the constantly changing scenery helps keep it interesting

Well thats how I started running and I do enjoy that much more as you can see you are constantly moving. I love the scenery and I have a love/hate relationship with hills but I got a gym membership for when the weather starts to get cold since its starting and thats the reason I have been on the treadmill for almost all of my runs lately

Thank you! I get 1 rest day a week, usually Friday, before the longer weekend runs.

I think stamina wasn't the word I meant to use, cuz I'm in the same boat as you - I can easily make myself last the length of whatever run, I just can't keep up a fast pace. For instance today I had a 5 mile run, it was a 10'25 pace which wasn't bad but obviously a lot slower than I'm shooting for. I had to mix in a lot of powerwalking in with my running.

A metronome is a good idea - let me know if it works! How long are your runs typically? I haven't run more than 3 miles in a few months until today, and I was dreading it.. But it wasn't too bad.

Good luck increasing your pace! It always sucks when you finish a run with a slower time than you aimed. It's so hard to cut times though, you're already out there pushing yourself, focusing on posture, all the different ways your body should be moving, hitting the ground... it's hard to remember to run faster =p

I don't know if I would actually use a metronome, there's a part of me that wants to but I don't know if I could run without my music, but if I ever do I'll write up a review in here :emoji_wink: My run today was just over 45mins, not sure on the distance, my app says I'm doing more than I actually am, running over water and out to random areas, but I do need to sit down and figure out the distance because I would like to know.
I know that dread feeling, I think I feel that before every run, but once it's over with I'm always fine and it has me feeling great.

Thanks! My longer runs lately have been going pretty well. I've been doing 5-6 miles at a 9:15-9:30 pace which is a steady jog for me. For the 6 mile run I actually jogged the entire time which I can almost never do. But I was away for a wedding for 4 days so it slowed down my training, had a bad run today :/

What app do you use to track your runs? You should get a GPS running watch. I've had the Garmin one for a few years now and it works great!

Oh nice one on the full jog! Always feels so good when you make a milestone like that. Hope now that you're back you feel your fitness level back to where it was. How was the wedding?

I use RunKeeper, it's handy for keeping track of my times but unless I fix up the map it's kind of pointless. I would really like a watch, I was in the sports store yesterday drooling over all the watches and workout gear.

Had to take my dog, my running buddy, to the vet yeterday as he's been limping. He had an x-ray and it turns out he's broken a toe so he won't be able to come out with me. I'm devastated. It's run day and it's going to be a lonely one =(

I went to the shoe store the other day to look at what they have on offer, not too happy with the last pair I bought. After speaking to one of the sales girls looks like I'll need to buy some racing shoes, kind of excited about that. Makes me want to buy a whole new set of workout clothes along with them.

Thanks! The wedding was great! I was the best man and my wife was a bridesmaid, so we were crazy busy the whole time. You should definitely treat yourself to a running watch and workout gear - it's great motivation to run because you'll feel guilty if you don't.

What a cute dog! But such a bummer about his toe, hope it heals soon. :emoji_slight_frown:

@Loyalty hope you weren't too run off you're feet and did get some time to enjoy yourself.
And I'm very tempted to drop a couple hundred tomorrow on some new s---. Went for a browse for new shoes today and the shoe store is having a sale until pm tomorrow... sooo... it only makes sense to buy them now while they are cheap.

And I hope so too. He gets so excited when he sees me put on my gear, I hate having to tell him to stay back. Lucky for him I've upped my distance so when he is back out there he will get a real good run!

Will hopefully be buying these next pay day. They feel so right and I'm already so excited to run in them.

I would like a pair of short too but not sure whether to go for the black or grey. Opinions?

Hi guys. Just finished an 8 mile run in the 40 degree weather. That's freezing for Arizonans :sweatt:

9:41 pace which isn't bad, trying to get closer to 9:00 though for my half marathon. Had to stop to tighten my shoelaces a lot on my new Nikes so that slowed me down a bit. I'm paranoid I'm gonna trip over my laces, cuz I actually did a week ago and cut up my hand pretty bad.

I'm also at 50.8 miles this month - which is the most I've had in a month since Nov 2012 :)
:) thanks. Did you end up getting yourself some running stuff? There's bound to be some good Black Friday deals (although I don't think you live in the states so idk if you have deals like that). Those shoes look awesome. And I like the black shorts better btw!

Oooh, you're shoes are looking very nice =D and nice work on the run and over mileage! Dont know about you but I prefer the colder weather over warmer to run in, maybe not at the start but after the body temp goes up it's nice. Sucks when you do trip up running, as you're already in motion, rather than just fall you do a bit of a superman towards the ground =/ hope you're healing up nicely.

I have bought a lot of stuff recently. Back at work so thought it only right to treat myself now that I have money. Would like to post some pics up to share but might have to wait until I have some free time before I get them up.

Finally reached my first proper distance goal, made it up to 15km!! yay. My time is terrible though. I'm proud of the distance I can run and how long I can run for separately, but together it's not really something to be beaming about. Oh well. Now to work on times. I have been able to cut time from my first long run till now by 9 minutes by having the first run in the middle of a hot day so a sneaky little trick to encourage myself =p.

Yeah we'll see how it goes. He found a baker's cyst in my knee which is usually caused by tears but made me got some blood drawn too cause the cyst is a result of lyme's disease sometimes. He said if I'm hurting on Monday then he'll drill in the and stick a camera in there and see what he finds. It most likely is a tear though. I'm just glad this will be fixed soon.
