Nah. Have a lot of nostalgia for this movie, struggle with it now. The cast is wasted, and the nature of the concept forced Nolan to become even more explanatory in the script than he usually is. There's just too much in too little time (poorly paced on top of that) and when watching it now I feel like my hand is being held almost the entire way through. Between those things and the ending, I have a really hard time calling it great despite how entertaining and nice to look at it is.

Really makes me wonder how this would have turned out if Jonathan co-wrote with Chris. The Prestige is convoluted as f--- and that still works for the most part. Same with Interstellar.

Cotillard so fine in this movie. :wow5:

Saito. You're supposed to feel for Mal too. Fischer's scenes pertaining to the relationship with his dad are extremely corny and by far the worst moments of the film. I'll take watching Cotillard and Leo go back and forth over that any day of the week.

Not when that world is spoon fed to me through some of the most contrived dialogue imaginable. And this is coming from someone who can tolerate things like Prometheus and The Hobbit trilogy just based on the world alone.

"Wait, who's subconscious are we going into exactly?"

^^Countless examples of dialogue like that. Completely takes me out of the film when I can tell that the only purpose of the lines are to guide the audience along.

Apart from the zero gravity scenes with Levitt, the only good action scenes in Inception take place between the 60 and 100 minute mark. The surprise of the opening has worn off, the alley chase is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen, and the snow finale couldn't be any more generic. Total fodder to make the finale more of a spectacle.

I do understand why people love the film, but I can only really stand 40-50 minutes of the entire thing now. Doubt I'll ever watch again.

Also a "No" from me. I've explained a number of times why I don't like Inception, so I'll just cheat now and post this review, which shares a lot of my issues with it (And the reviewer here, like myself, was a big fan of The Dark Knight so it's not a matter of being anti-Nolan or anti-Hollywood...just anti-Inception.)
