I haven’t been as tapped in with Olivia as I used to be since I kind of lost interest. Now that she is over the sophomore slump things could be better for her. Olivia has been releasing an album every other year, and her albums are relatively short so I assume that pattern will probably continue. The title of KISS makes sense due to her relationship she is in. I expect more love songs than usual. Some of those deluxe songs on GUTS show that direction a bit.

I also expect more subliminal mentions of Sabrina Carpenter most likely. Their fanbases will be comparing the numbers when this album comes out. A feature from Sabrina would be insane, but I highly doubt that will happen.

Another four letter title would make a nice trilogy. I don’t know if she will do this her entire career. If she is going to break the four letter thing, it should be on an album where she shows a bigger evolution with her sound. GUTS was a small evolution, but not huge. I hope that she doesn’t become complacent with her sound and continues to evolve.

If I recall correctly this is her first album where she isn’t a teen so we could see a bigger progression here. I’m pretty sure she said she wrote most of GUTS while she was still a teen, so some topics were still kinda immature. It was still a good album, but I’m hoping for something better with this third album. I need something to reignite my interest.

I do hope we get more music videos with this album. I feel like guts didn’t have a lot. Olivia’s type of music is often better with music videos. That’s not just because she’s attractive lol, but also because her music videos are usually great at telling a story that complements the song. The good 4 u video was iconic.
