now THIS is the Waits i love. Much more strange, and off kilter, but still great. I do think that its a bit weaker than Rain Dogs, but still pretty good overall

I usually don't rank albums on here, but this is a 10. No doubt about it. Only complaint I have is that the skit at the end of Robes goes on too long. Aside from that? Masterpiece, Hip-Hop Classic etc. etc.

Last album for march!!!! Definitely not Bowie's best, but it's underrated imo. 4 absolute stellar tracks, and 4 pretty decent ones.

Very good record, although I feel that Piñata's shadow looms over it. That record is just incredible from the back, and I feel like this one doesn't match it as much. Still some great tracks on this though. 5 years... where the h--- is Montana

It's a pretty decent tape. I listened to the OG version though, cause like, WHY DID HE REMOVE T.I OFF OF QUINTANA PT.2

OB4CL has always been my favorite Wu solo album from the 36 Chambers - WTF era, but recently, Liquid Swords has been catching up!!! RZA's production is top notch as always, and GZA is f---ing AWESOME. Classic song after classic song. "Liquid Swords" "Living In The World Today" "4th Chamber" "Shadowboxin" dear God. Gotta give a quick shout out to Killah Priest's "B.I.B.L.E.", which has some of my favorite opening lines to any rap song ever.

"Knowledge this wisdom, this goes back when I was 12
I loved doing right but I was trapped in h---"

My former GOAT really fell off, didn't he? I feel like I've mentioned this every time I've logged a Ye album ITT, but it truly makes me sad to look at his work now. I think the run from TCD to this record, is one of the best runs in music history. I'd even rank it over Bowie's 70's run. This is a record so full of ideas that should not work (and according to some people, they don't), but they all come together in such a great way. While I still do like a lot of Ye's records after this (I'm admittedly a very big Donda guy), this feels like his magnum opus in many ways. I often debate on how I'd rank this, MBDTF, and Yeezus, but there's no doubt that they are 3 incredible records, from an artist who might be too far gone at this point. Could Ye come back? Everything is possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath sadly.

This feels like the last real Kanye album. It’s nowhere near MBDTF or Graduation in my opinion, but it was the last time I genuinely cared about his music.

I think the OG Wolves was the best or maybe it was the second version? Not entirely sure. But the one that made it onto the album was definitely the weakest of the three.

This was when Kanye started flip flopping but hadn’t completely gone off the rails yet lol

Great Hip-Hop record with some bangers. I've always liked the cover.

    131. The Pablo Collective - The Death of Pablo (2017) [April 2nd, 2025]

This is a very strange record to discuss. For those not aware, this record is based on a dream that a member on 4chan's /mu/ board had about a dark and depressing Kanye album. Some artists got together and released it on Bandcamp. I think that parts of this record are legitimately great, especially when parts of TLOP songs are remixed, and the sections where Kanye interviews about his mental health are incorporated in. Despite this, large parts of the record feel tacky, and almost "creepypasta-core". While I did enjoy parts of it, I highly doubt that I'll be revisiting it much.

I admit that I might be biased when it comes to Spanish-language releases, but this is a stellar album. Great elements of rock and jazz, and the vocals are heavenly. Gotta check out Charly's solo work soon.

Even though I enjoy his works before it, for me, Peggy's work didn't really "click" with me until LP! . I can't really explain why, but every record from this and afterwards is incredible to me. "HAZARD DUTY PAY!" is one of the best songs of the decade

I've already established that Ghost is my favorite Wu member, and this record is great. It hits a bit of a lull in the second half, but still, some absolute stellar tracks. HE WANTED TO BE THE CHAMP!

I enjoyed this one MUCH more time this time around. Weaker than Rain Dogs, but I'd put it over Swordfishtrombones. "Yesterday Is Here" was a big highlight this time around.

Is it safe to say that this is one of the best late-stage albums in Hip-Hop??? Every track is killer, No I.D killed it. Jay is amazing, and this really feels like a semi-comeback as I wasn't really a fan of MCHG. "The Story of OJ" and "4:44" are especially among the best tracks of the 2010's

Wouldn't really recommend this to anyone unless they're into Mexican folk music, but it's a fun listen. A bit too long, but some great tracks as well.

    :emoji_star: 138. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... (1995) [April 5th, 2025]

As much as I glazed Liquid Swords earlier, THIS is the cream of crop when it comes to Wu-Tang solo albums. Whereas LS felt like an evolution of 36 Chambers' sound, OB4CL is its own animal. I think some of RZA's best beats are on this album, like "Criminology" "Guillotine" "Ice Water" and SOOOO much more. I love how the Wu members adopted their Gambino aliases for this record, it really adds to the cinematic feel of this record. Seriously the run from "Knuckleheadz" to the remix of CIBASS is legendary. This is Raekwon at his best, but this album is also a big part of why Ghost is my favorite member. He has so many incredible verses, and his opening lines on "Rainy Dayz" are still f---ing peak.

"On rainy days I sit back and count ways on
How to get rich son, show and prove, ask my blitz
Stood up late nights, build with my a-lias
We can pull a heist, snatch ice or rock mics
But this rap s---, got me wanna clack back the latch
How it goes Leon, pesos made from scratch"

Most of the album is flawless, with my only complaints being that the interludes go on a BIT too long. But still, this is a stellar album, and in case you haven't listened to it, do it... NOW.

    139. Westside Gunn - Pray For Paris (2020) [April 6th, 2025]

Yet another album that brings me back to the pandemic era. Seriously, PfP, AWT, Alfredo, and RTJ4 were on constant repeat for me back then. I haven't listened to all of Gunn's records, so I can't say that its his absolute best, but its still pretty good. I know I say this a lot, but "Party wit Pop Smoke" is 100% one of the best tracks of the decade so far.

Checked out the film yesterday (f---ing PEAK) so I decided to give the soundtrack a chance. I really enjoyed it actually. Now, would I enjoy this album as much if I hadn't loved the movie? Probably not, but this still a pretty good record overall.
