Jun 24, 2015 Guys, didn't we all JUST debate/rank Tarantino films a few months ago? Is this how we're spending our time on earth? paul, i think it's restrained compared to his other output, it's far less cartoonish and humanistic. pretty straightforward, imo. also, agreed his bottom three are def django and the k--- bills (way too much of a "good thing").
Jun 24, 2015 Seems more underrated than polarizing. Excellent cast, soundtrack. Not my favorite Tarantino film but not the worst either (That honor goes to Death Proof).
Jun 24, 2015 I will watch both k--- bills back to back 10 times in a row, and then 3 or 4 other Tarantino films before I decide I'm in the mood for some Jackie Brown
Jun 24, 2015 agreed, TDKR is just the worst in the trilogy -- i prefer it to almost all the mcus wtf - go sit in the corner
Jun 24, 2015 At least that movie knew what it was And if the sequel to batman begins and TDK is being brought into convos about AS2 it already lost lol
Jun 24, 2015 The Dark Knight the first half of Batman Begins ... The Dark Knight Rises the second half of Batman Begins
Jun 24, 2015 How does TDKR not know what it is? That movie falters in its execution by Nolan again doing too much, not misguided intent.
Jun 24, 2015 Why would I want to watch Jackie brown before pulp fiction, inglorious b------s, or reservoir dogs? What about what I said is so inflammatory You're overcorrecting for how underrated you think it is
Jun 24, 2015 ive seen you say this before. cant co sign, but intrigued... @Narsh you would watch k--- bill 10 times before jackie brown? wha?
Jun 24, 2015 So did Batman sacrifice his life for his city? Did he find redemption? Did he throw all of that away for his own life? Was the debt He thought he owed to his city paid? I honestly don't know because the script made some awful choices imo, the ending obviously being my main complaint
Jun 24, 2015 Lol just a joke but yeah I know the universe he created with both the parts. I love the style. My favorite chapters from each movie are some of my favorites in film, in general. Just so exciting, and virtually flawlessly executed. 10/10 times I would be more excited to watch part 1 or 2 of KB than JB.
Jun 24, 2015 Yes. That's what we're left to believe. Huh I guess so since he isn't a superhero anymore? Ending is complete s---, but for completely different reasons.
Jun 24, 2015 so you think he died? I think the only logical pov is that he died, but then there's the alfred dream sequence, hathaway with the pearl necklace or whatever, and so many other shoehorned ambiguities He found redemption by saving his city another time? If he's still alive after that nuke (lol), what changed that he can just not be Batman anymore? Was there really development in this regard? Something I'm missing? Some people say he's actually alive and that the last scene w/ Alfred isnt symbolic, but a callback to Alfred's story that implies that he actually, randomly, sees Bruce (lol) So wait, now I'm confused? like? i love hearing about why TDKR is bad, so bring it on
Jun 24, 2015 it seems to me that they let nolan do his thing on the first half, then--right at the midpoint, when there's that board room conversation about microwaving chips or whatever--they turn it over to goyer, who was proven in comic book flicks at the time, and would at the very least not screw up all the action sequences etc. the batman stuff is over-the-top campy, dull, or both imo. (i understand TDKR has its own problems in this regard and i'm not exactly enthusiastic in saying it's better, just that the training/character stuff in BB is far better than the second half).
