    I'm convinced that the focus on hooks in modern rap is derived from 50 cents almost godly ability to deliver literally perfect hooks

    well this is just sickening. not only are you saying that your opinion on the album is superior, but you're also saying that your opinion on who's a good music critics is superior....you basically just said "this album is bad because people who think like me also think this album is bad" lol

    no i'm not, and i already clarified that post with a later post in this thread. the one you quoted is in response to the claim that every critic gave it a top score/review, even those who personally didn't love the album. i'm correcting that, as it's literally, demonstrably untrue. i'm not even making a value judgment about the album in that post. try again.

    ahahah.... these perfect hooks were already there in west coast hip hop in the late 80s & early 90s.

    These perfect hooks were everywhere at that time...

    nice try though but 50 isn't even the first rapper to "sing" on his songs.
