Apr 3, 2025 Ice Cube has officially been given the greenlight to proceed with a long-awaited new Friday movie. The legendary rapper and actor has put to pen to paper on a deal with Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema to develop Last Friday, the first installment in the comedy series in more than 20 years. New Line’s COO Richard Brenner confirmed the news in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, saying: “We are making another Friday. We just closed a deal with Ice Cube to write and star. It’s going to be called Last Friday.” Aside from Ice Cube writing and starring in the sequel, no other details were announced, such as which actors will be reprising their roles in the cult series. Cube has been teasing a fourth Friday film for quite a while and been publicly detailing his efforts to get the movie made. Speaking last October on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, the N.W.A legend was optimistic that the movie would get made.
