Jun 26, 2015 Seriously how did mathew reached his full potential and peaked, i want ppl defending this line to admit its s---
Jun 26, 2015 Once you reach the your potential you're at your peak, Mathew went up to the window to peek. It's a homonym.
Jun 26, 2015 A verse with something embarassing like that in it can never be his best verse. Other than that it's still pretty great though
Jun 26, 2015 But its mathew rapping, why would he say he reached any potential, line fundamentally makes no sense
Jun 26, 2015 I f---ing love that verse. My favorite part of MMLP2. Obviously not his best ever or even should be in contention but still a great verse.
Jun 26, 2015 It does seem like he switched from rapping as Matthew to himself. Perhaps it means Matthew thought his full potential was killing Eminem,
Jun 26, 2015 It's a narrative and he's using a similie to narrate his actions. I never really questioned the line that much.
Jun 26, 2015 The line is fine first time ypu listen since u think its em...but when ypu realize its mathew, the line makes no sense
Jun 26, 2015 Ok, the way I see it is: Bad Guy is a song told from Mathew's perspective. In the 3rd verse he's telling us how he's going after Em. Instead of just saying, "I went up to the window and looked", he uses a literary device to depict his actions to the listener. I don't think he literally means he peaked. And even if he did, maybe that's the reason he's killing Em. Because he's hit a dead end in life and feels like he has nothing more to offer the world. So what does he do? He goes out with a b---.
Jun 26, 2015 all i know is everyone was saying the window peak line was GOAT it's time to change our minds again?
Jun 26, 2015 That's because the verse wouldn't make sense in 2002. The verse is about everything he's done in his career up until 2013 and how he's approaching the end of his run. It's about his karma catching up with him. The verse is the perfect culmination of his entire career and because of that it is ranked highly. I would say Top 3 Verses since his comeback in 2009.
Jun 26, 2015 Verse is amazing in every way. The majority of the content is a summary of his career and what "Stan" really stands for. Not to mention it's one of the best beats he's ever rapped over and that Slim Shady demon voice in the background just puts it over the top. 10/10 verse. One of the greatest moments of his career imo. Just a shame it was a part of such a disappointing song and album.
