Jul 3, 2015 Eminem is not as hot as JCole right now, amongst 10-30 year olds, right on gnarly dude. However, 10-20 year old kids love MMLP2. You're kinda belligerent if you think Eminem is not a household name. I liked whatever posts you made that were legit; I'll always like legit posts. You're ~75% spot-on w/your posts bro so Salute and Have A Great Flight Outta Here I Suppose @YellowWolf
Jul 3, 2015 Ed Sheeran was the most streamed in 2014. Also Taylor Swift before she took her music off Spotify and Rihanna.
Jul 3, 2015 bunch of 20-30 year olds arguing at 5AM on the internet.. Don't you guys have work? lmao. I'm 17 so I got an excuse
Jul 3, 2015 ^ @ToPimpALegend There Is No Escaping There's No Place To Hide. You Scream 'Someone Save Me' But They Don't Pay No Mind. Goodnight Goodbye @Nori #ThankYouBasedNoriGawd #PraiseBeToKoolo
Jul 3, 2015 He said Em was the most streamed artist on Spotify in 2014, so I corrected him and responded. I have nothing against Em but reality is no one is checking for him releasing music but his stans if his next album is somewhat good and it's everywhere I'll apologize, but Em fans need to accept it he's done.
Jul 3, 2015 *dislike* [KingKendrick] "wit the DEUCE DEUCE!!" [/] #BOOBOO MMLP2 mostly s----d and so did over half of XV but I'm optimistically hoping this too shall pass. He's always evolved and like @Nori explained couple years ago he's an adapter and can adjust, CHEAH
Jul 3, 2015 Nobody apart from 14-17 year olds give a s--- about Eminem in Australia. You're all jumping down @ToPimpALegend 's throat, but he's making a pretty valid point. Half the people I hang out with could sing Eminem's songs off older albums word-for-word but don't even know what ShadyXV is, or that MMLP2 was a thing till I informed them, months after its release. He very rarely gets radio play (and no, you plebs, it's not because the radio is s---. They play other rappers). Hype for him is almost dead in Australia. The only time I ever heard someone say "oh did you hear... about Eminem?" was in reference to his live shows. Nobody cares about his new stuff here and you guys are acting like he's a global deity praised by everyone. He's a household name, sure. But he's really not relevant in rap anymore, when compared to other rappers.
Jul 3, 2015 Eminem will always have some relevance because of his past and skin color no matter how awful he is now
Jul 3, 2015 That may be true, but worldwide he is still more relevant than j cole lol. I doubt anyone knows who cole is except for his fans.. eminem is known by everybody, even though he is not as popular as he once was and the quality of his music went downhill.
Jul 3, 2015 Dude what you're saying is really subjective. Yes people like fetty wap are more relevant to the "mainstream" rap world right now, but not to the majority of em fans who are white and are much more numerous than fetty wap fans etc. also iirc eminem created a pretty big f---ing buzz when he dropped rap god not too long ago. Also not saying he's anywhere near as good as kdot or cole are right now (there in their primes, ems near the end) but I would say em is at least as relevant as jay. (n----- hasn't put out music in 3 yrs, tidal was a flop lol)
Jul 3, 2015 I don't understand why people care about the 'relevancy' of an artist they love or hate. Is Eminem relevant to young people today? Probably not. He never leaves his house, never ends up in the media anymore, and doesn't make music that regularly gets play on pop stations or in clubs. The fact that the quality of his music has declined hurts him as well. That doesn't mean he still isn't a huge presence. His announcements still draw up more interest than almost anyone in the world of music and it's undeniable that he stirs up reacts in almost everybody (for better or for worse). I mean he almost sold 800,000 records first week in 2014......and he's a 40+ year old rapper. Eminem stans f---ing hate that he isn't the biggest thing on the planet anymore. And Eminem haters hate that he's still a fairly important figure in rap. And both those groups just need to settle the f--- down sometimes.
Jul 3, 2015 How excatly does somebody judge how relevant an artist is? Record sales? Streams? Video views? Tour sales? Or is it something less definitive like hype, mass appeal, care level on what they say or do, etc. Can't make a credible argument that Eminem is irrelevant if it's based on the first 3 (possibly 4, but he don't tour much) and can't really Claim it based on anything else since it's easy to create technically true claims about one's popularity or whatever based on spefic biased sources. Of course that doesn't take into consideration the amount of stuff released and how frequent his stuff is put out among other things but he's long past a point where that really matters anymore.
Jul 3, 2015 i'm almost sure alot of people have moved on listening to Eminem, he's hanging onto relevance even with his older fans. i know for sure i don't connect with his music like i did before.
