Jul 6, 2015 If Cole delivers 2-3 more projects that are on par quality wise with FNL, FHD and TWU he'll be up there with the all-time greats no doubt. If Drizzy and Kenny keep it up they'll be right up there, too. Drake, Cole and Kenny are so far ahead of their peers. It's great to have all three in the game right now. Let's table this discussion and come back in 5 years.
Jul 9, 2015 As much as I love cole he isn't the greatest artist of all time nonetheless greatest artist out right now. However he has taken tremendous steps with FHD by delivering a project that has commercial appeal for the label while staying true to his roots. That article was a really good read but I will always be stuck with the burden of comparison of cole/Kendrick. Kendrick is easily the better lyricist both are extremely talented and song writing and story telling. The only definitive edge cole has over Kendrick is relatability. Being able to relate to the people was a key aspect in 2pac's music and that's what Cole does best. But I can say without a doubt (and cole is a top 5 rapper for me (actively speaking) and is one of my favorite artist ever he can make the jump to my top 5 rapper pending the rest of his career) but he doesn't have the artistry skills of that of a drake/Kanye/frank ocean... And those are just current dudes
