Theres no way of answering this question completely. Theres countless artists who are influenced by Eminem. And then those same artists are influenced by Tupac, Nas, Big L, etc.
How many artist can we say are a direct result of other artists.Last edited: Jul 10, 2015Guma, lasiiik, Ordinary Joel and 8 others like this. -

I would say of Obie Trice, who put out 2 great albums on shady but he somehow totally disappeared after leaving the label. He was dope enough to get another deal and be somewhat successful but for whatever reason that never happenedGuma, dester23, Ordinary Joel and 3 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

I don't understand this thread. Just seems like you are trying to come off too anti-stan, @Koolo.
We could never know this. It's too subjective. Many rappers have many different influences. I'm sure a ton of famous rappers today were heavily influenced by Eminem, more than you would realize or that have even said they were. Just because no one prominent is directly stemmed from Eminem (ala 50 Cent), doesn't mean you can say without Eminem there would still be <insert rapper here>.
Eminem is probably to thank for more of the popular rappers from the past decade than most people. -

no artist's success was a direct result of eminem, but he did change the entire fanbase of hip hop from 99-03. so no he didn't necessarily create a single rap artist you can point to, but he did drastically change the sound of mainstream rap.gorealsteady, TheResponderUno, dester23 and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Hard question tbh because people like Kendrick who are inspired by Em may have become famous but for all we know, his style could've been totally different... a totally different Kendrick. So in a sense, there'd still BE a Kendrick Lamar, but a different Kendrick Lamar

Hip hop without Eminem ... it's a very good question, my answer has always been that eminem has made hip hop to world wide phenomenon, especially after Stan and The Real Slim shady, then I saw adult men who do not like hip hop or rap for that matter. humming melody, yelling Slim shady. He made hip hop visible where there was otherwise invisible ... I was the only one in our small town that loved hip hop. also I think Eminem has a big role for renewed of hip hop. especially with MMLP. from 2000/03 it was a great years of HIP HOP.boyz n the suburbs, Guma and Immy like this.
