epic post @Mimi, pretty much sums up how I feel about both too
A few years ago from the ages of 16-18 I was a pretty big drinker and didn't like weed at all. I used to love the feeling of being drunk. There was a time in late 2011 and throughout most of 2012 where I'd pretty much consume alcohol at east 4 times a week, just by partying and being with my friends all the time. There were a lot of great moments during this period but there were plenty s--- ones too, actually more s--- than good tbh. At the time you feel like superman, but the day(s) after a bender are the absolute worst, and the fear of what the f--- happened the night before isn't as funny as how they portray it in the movies. Alcohol just doesn't do it for me anymore. In the last 2 years I've probably been drunk about 5 times.
Funnily enough I started to smoke weed much more after I stopped drinking. For me it took a few sessions to get into, I never really saw the fuss in it but once you become more experienced and comfortable with it the better each joint feels. When I'm high I can still do all sorts of things like play sports, watch TV, listen to music, chill the f--- out - and enjoy it all. You can't really do any of those things properly when you've had a drink. Smoking definitely suits me better because I'm not as outdoorsy as I used to be, nowadays I'd rather smoke a bowl with a mate, eat some good a--- food and put on Netflix.
Also unlike drinking, smoking doesn't make me wanna call my ex's up at the end of the night on some Marvin's Room s---
Alcohol can cause a lot of unnecessary drama, especially with the wrong people. If you're walking down a street at night would you rather bump into a group of people who are high or who are drunk? Drinking can be great so I wouldn't discourage it, but moderate it. The same goes for weed. I don't think its good to smoke a load every day, yet its seemingly more socially accepted and the same stigma isn't attached. I've seen with my own eyes though what smoking constantly can do to people. One of my old friends literally turned into Bubbles from the Wire from smoking too much.SaviorOfS80, Ordinary Joel, Mimi and 1 other person like this. -

If weed were legal I would probably never drink alcohol tbh
Alcohol is a s--- poison that makes you obnoxious to be around, kills your body, and makes you feel like s--- the next day.
Weed makes you silly and empathetic and opens you up to things you never noticed / thought of before.

Weed and its not even close. With alcohol in order to get anything beyond a good buzz you need to drink enough to corrode your liver and I always end up either throwing up or feeling like s--- the next day.
With weed, the only time people don't like the high is when they're scrubs who dont know to take the stems and s--- out and then they get a little headache.
Weed is safer, healthier, doesn't induce nausea or leave you hungover. Plus, you can at least vaguely remember what you did last night even if you've been smoking a ton. I don't like waking up and having to assume I had fun last night without knowing the details. -

That's a tough one. Probably weed.
Don't get me wrong I doooo love a good drink. I love the variety in alcohol; beer, wine, spirits. I appreciate the different techniques that go into brewing although I don't know much about it. I love having a drink, in a nice bar and just slowly getting drunk with some good people and conversation. I enjoy being drunk.
On the other hand I do not like how easy it is to get overly drunk. I hate the head spinning & need to throw up feeling. I hate hang overs and how s--- that leaves you feeling and can pretty much ruin a whole day.
Where as with weed I can get high, as high as I like, you can never get too high and if you do... just have a little nap and you're good to smoke again. Weed hangovers are nothing like alcohol ones. It may leave me feeling a bit groggy but I am fine to get on with s---. I can work high, I can drive high. I'm more of a homebody so weed suits me better. Toke up, game, watch some docs, whatever. Weed makes it all the much better.
Weed also soothes conflicts. Alcohol makes people defensive and it's harder to have a constructive conversation while drunk/ with someone who is drunk. Weed can make it easier to be calm in the situation and take on other peoples perspective a bit better.
The only downside to weed is the paranoia and negative thoughts that I can have if I dont watch myself.
