Jul 17, 2015It starts with this white guy, and the opening sequences sort of establishes his backstory. He spouts one-liners, oozes charisma, and is more built than the average white guy. There are a bunch of dank memes that originate from him. Some are quite funny.
There are also side-characters. There is one attractive female character that the lead falls for, and but she is pretty much a blank slate the lead bounces flirtations and jokes off.
The lead hero has a good relationship with all of his comrades. Also all of them can be 'funny' when given the opportunity.
There's also a villain. He sort of comes and goes whenever the narrative requires his presence. He kinda has a few scenes and lines that vaguely explains his backstory and motivation. But nothing more. And he eventually tries to k--- a bunch of people, including the lead hero. I'm using 'tries' loosely here as he is basically in the movie just to ultimately be a non-threatening punching bag for the hero.
Also, the supervillain is played by a good actor.
The third act has a lot of explosions, shooting and, generally, things getting destroyed. Other than being assaulted by the usual Hollywood spectacle, you don't feel the tension at all, and the main (good) characters are never in peril, but the stakes are through the roof.
I hope the description is good enough. Any idea which MCU genre movie this is?
