Jul 24, 2015 At least when you fall asleep listening to Future it's because you drank too much lean and not because he's audio-ambien :maccig:
Jul 24, 2015 Strongly disagree because 2 Chainz never really put out a solid project, he just ran the feature game. All of his albums had a handful of good songs, but none of them were very good front-to-back listens. Future's buzz comes from the fact that he's released five solid projects in 15 months: four of them are borderline-amazing and one is a lesser pop record that's still enjoyable in its own right.
Jul 24, 2015 but futures been around, making waves, for like half a decade already. the weeknd was introducing him to drake in 2011. its fun to make things up tho isnt it. also, please show me the 4 great projects within 8 months 2 chainz dropped 2011-2012, thanks.
Jul 24, 2015 2chainz was around longer dating back to his playa circle days. obviously he didnt release 4 projects within a year but that 1-2 year span when he released his mixtape tru religion, album based on a tru story and 100's of feature verses it pretty much had the same effect. he had a huge buzz, a #1 album and a cult fan base at that time period similar to this gay s--- n----s call future hive. If future could repeat this again come his next release then im wrong.
Jul 25, 2015 Did 2 Chainz really have a cult following the size that Future has now back in 2011? I didn't pay attention this much back then. I think the quality of Future's projects front-to-back are going to make the difference between him and 2chainz though.
Jul 25, 2015 word this "future hive" s--- is sooo gay. how big is his "cult" following anyways? he isn't even doing big sean numbers despite having the vastly superior project. but maybe i'm not clear on what a cult following is tho idk lol. @Narsh codeine crazy is a a1 song, but you're dismissing some of the early joints cole dropped like 2face and autograph. they're hard to compare tho.
Jul 25, 2015 Drake & Futue 1&2 it's interchangeable Who gives af about #3 these only 2 rappers I need
Jul 25, 2015 I agree heavily with Future being a better artist if we compare those 2 timespans, but as far as them being blog/critic darlings with a decent sized fan-base? 2Chainz didn't have as many actual fans as Future now, it was more hype but those Tity Boi features paid dividends on every track he hopped on (see Mercy).
Jul 26, 2015 lol not gonna lie I'm not a fan of the name at all, it really should have been FBG or something astronaut related. I guess it's all anecdotal evidence for me but I didn't know any hardcore 2 Chainz fans, while I know quite a few hardcore Future fans.
Jul 26, 2015 i honestly don't know what a "cult following" is lol, i'm thinking it's just a hardcore stan-base but correct me if i'm wrong. by that definition, i believe 2 chainz had a bandwagon following more than a cult following, but i believe "future hive" is being blown out of proportions. same with young thug fans, they're big on twitter and message boards but that's about it. didn't young thug's last album sell like 15,000 copies? i know j. cole fans who try to find copies of the "a star is born" single by jay-z just cause it was one of j. cole's first ever features.
Jul 26, 2015 It should be space cadets but most of the bandwagon fans haven't even listens to astronaut status prolly
Jul 26, 2015 Actually, yeah, cult following might not be the best term for Future because he's too mainstream at this point. I've always thought of a cult following as more like a smaller but really passionate fanbase (see: Young Thug, @Narsh)...though I'd say an artist can retain its cult following even after becoming mainstream.
Jul 26, 2015 I don't call myself "champagne papi" or identify with any subgroup nicknames to classify myself as a fan of any artist you fa----. Especially one that flips something female Beyoncé fans run with lmao.
