Oct 29, 2017 So, I've re-listened to the album multiple times (including right now) and here is my final opinion: 1. TBF is definitely Yelawolf's most personal album to date. 2. It is unique and great in its own right - It shouldn't actually be compared to previous releases... 3. In terms of point 2, it is hard NOT to compare - WHY? Because unfortunately there ha been poor effort to promote the album prior to its launch. This being said, effective promotion would have ensured that everyone was 'on the same page' in terms of expectations and the overall direction Yela wanted to take. Instead, we all expected 'A' and got 'Z'. So yes, it is not HOTEL (which was amazing), but definitely has something special to it. I feel that it is quite repetitive, and the mixing is quite poor in some areas. I would have preferred this to have been his first non-Shady release (reminds me of 50 Cent's Animal Ambition actually). Anyway, good effort from Yela.

Oct 29, 2017 Yelawolf has been really close to a classic album twice. Some of his hooks fall a tad short, some of the song choices, etc. I like his departure from regular hip hop sounds, he was close to a classic more so n love story than tbf. Tbf is good, but the redneck shining through is a little heavy for me...

Oct 29, 2017 The roll out and build up to an album definitely play a massive part for me man. Just started listening to a few songs and i can’t get into it at all. It’s very late here right now though and I just wanted to quickly hear some songs. Just seems so thrown together when it hasn’t been properly promoted and put out. In saying that though, definitely gonna try and keep an open mind and listen to it tomorrow start to finish.
Oct 30, 2017 After a few more listens I’m going to replace the weak songs with my favorites from Hotel. I’m already thinking of removing the Struggle interlude and “Sabrina” at least.
