Hi !

i created a new group consist of S80 admins (saladin, slyk, mike tyson, me) and the semi admin (bigcountry)...this group is called @Help and can be tagged by any member...let me explain why this group is made

i started to notice an increase in the hostile arguments here lately...the first 3 months of S80 was amazing, maybe a bit too positive? the following 2 were perfect balance...now im seeing a problem in the force and we need to fix it

there are forums which are up for over 10 years now, usually they are horribly designed and most of the functions dont work..but they outlive the best designed forums thanks to their community...so its good to talk about some of the issues we had lately

Things are not being reported enough.

jmg made a post that said its not fair to monkeys to be compared to black people, no one reported this for hours...comments like are what starts a hostile environment ... discussion about drake and meek now results in members calling each other b---- and f--...etc

we support healthy arguments, not a flaming contest...also we dont police posts, we cant simply warn each member that call someone a b----...but if you feel harassed, pls report it...tag us...pm us, tell us you are being bullied..also we will actively start banning people from threads who ignore warnings and keep derailing threads


Note; we will not intefere in any argument no matter how heated it is, as long as no one is insulting the other by throwing names..etc

As long as you guys (admins) take care of S80 and show how much you care (e.g. with this thread), that luckily won't happen too easily.

As much as I hate to compare this site with SL (because it's no real comparison because S80 >> SL), I really dig how much effort you guys put in this site. Even @Mike Tyson said he didn't really care as much about SL in the last couple of months but luckily S80 is different.

Gotta be honest, lately I could have reported more posts which have been really harassing. Now, I'mma press that report button more often when it's needed

people dont realize how easy it is for a forum to go from great community to s--- if things gets outta hand...it takes a fight between two people...for it to spread to 4...to 8...etc

Why would anyone report a jmg post? He's been saying the same s--- from the start (pedo comments, racist comments, homophobic comments etc) and no one cared because "heh, jmg man, such a troll haha, he does what he does". Also some people seem to care more about beefing / trashtalking / being edgy instead of actual discussion. If threads turn bad and a mod steps up, people will complain about nazi mods, if not, the thread is as good as dead basically because people lose interest (talking about the regular forum, not the OT.) Meanwhile, some guys ignore what's mentioned in the OP (unless one of their e-buddies gets called out or a thread they find interesting gets f----- up, then they turn to e-warriors) and focus on "le circlejerk and muh internet points".

Either than that, I think that now that people can be banned from specific threads, it'll result in more discussion. I also think that the forum is more active than it was last month?
