Aug 28, 2015 It's definitely better sequenced As for the "better" album, I'd say it's ahead of the chronic.. definitely not 2001 though
Aug 28, 2015 I feel the opposite. The Chronic is close to flawless. 2001 and Compton are fairly close but I think 2001 might be slightly better. All three are at least 8/10s for me.
Aug 28, 2015 Lol I really can't believe that people think this is better than the chronic or 2001, curious to see if people still say that in 6 months.
Aug 28, 2015 I can see why people say that tbh not that it's better but it's up there with his previous albums
Aug 28, 2015 The first single will be 'Talk About It' http://hiphop-n-more.com/2015/08/dr-dre-to-release-talk-about-it-as-a-radio-single-from-compton/
Aug 29, 2015 After three weeks, Compton is an album that I can listen to without skipping songs. I can't say that for either the Chronic or 2001. I want to see how what my opinion is after a few months, but I don't think it is crazy for anyone to say that it is better than the previous two. As far as top songs: 1. All In A Days Work - Love the live instrumentation. I didn't see the credits, but the beat has Dre's fingerprints all over it. LIve bass, live drums.... The dude playing the high hats goes off. This beat is almost like a jazz beat. Love the back and forth between Dre and Anderson Paak. To me, this song is up there with anything Dre has done so far. s--- is on repeat. Also, anyone else notice the high hats toward the end of the song, show up on the next song Darkside at about 45 secs or so? 2. Genocide - This beat is ridiculous. The bass and surround sound. Kendrick kills his verse. 3. Deep Water - My favorite beat on the whole album. Once again Kendrick kills it. Man I would love to hear a Kendrick Lamar album produced entirely by Dre. He kills it on every song on this album, but on TPAB his beats were terrible compared to what he was rapping to on this one. 4. Talking to My Diary - Slim the Mobster brought his A game on this one. Love this track. 5. Loose Cannons - Can't believe Dre brought back Hutch on this one. Hutch killed it. Xzibit killed it. I'm surprised to see some people complaining about this album. From start to finish this is my favorite Dre album. I still can't figure out who Justus is or the difference between the female singers on the album, but could care less.
Aug 29, 2015 I find that choice a little strange. I would have done All On Me or Animals or even Medicine Man for obvious reasons.
Aug 29, 2015 I wish they removed king mez from intro, s---'s awful, the only thing I really dislike on the album
Aug 30, 2015 The biggest strengths of this album is the production and the features for the most part The issues I had on here was Dre's delivery and the forced unnatural flow he used on some songs. I also was disappointed that Snoop wasn't Snoop on this album and Eminem had no connection to Dre on Medicine Man, it was like two separate songs.
Aug 30, 2015 imo the only part of the album that could ruin the sonic mesh of it. after that smooth intro its just BAM
Aug 30, 2015 The album is f---ing atrocious. Whereas his first two albums are probably two of the Top 5 albums in rap history. There is no comparison.
Aug 30, 2015 Lol won't get played on the radio at all. Proves my point that this album doesn't even have a song worthy of being a single.
Aug 30, 2015 That's how I originally felt bit it grew on me like crazy. Great song. The only songs I don't like are The Game song and Love Of Money. I still don't understand how people like much less love the Game song. It's arguably the worst beat Dre's ever made and Game's ridiculous voices are as obnoxious as Eminem's accent was. Edit- And of course Medicine Man sucks.
Aug 30, 2015 Medicine Man, Animals, For the Love of Money, Darkside Gone, Deep Water, All in a Days Work, few others. Great album, love the vibe, better than 2001, nooooo
Aug 31, 2015 I know Game puts on flows/accents/voices and s---, but I'm fairly certain that his voice on just another day is his normal voice (now). My mate actually mentioned the same thing and said "why does game put a weird voice on for the song?" I honestly just thought it was from him smoking too much. I've literally seen people's voices change like that IRL. I felt similar though on the first few listens, thought it was an average track. But it really grew on me and man that part in the NWA movie where the beat comes on bikies start popping wheelies >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> im not sure why, but after I saw that, I liked the song a lot more. I want to defend Medicine Man, but i seriously don't like it much, if at all and it really seems out of place on the album. Actually it can literally f--- off and I'll replace it with Imagine or Topless in my itunes.
