That wasn't Al-Qaeda, that was the Taliban during the Soviet-Afghan war. There's no doubt that the US and allies has funded the rebels in Syria, nobody is denying that. Once they realized their mistake they stopped arming and funding them. And no, US hasn't "indirectly" created ISIS, ISIS was created as a result of the sectarian tensions in Syria and Iraq. It's a 1400 year long battle that won't end any time soon. ISIS has existed as part of AQI in 2004. ISIS isn't a group that randomly showed up, they've been here for over a decade.
