Aug 6, 2015For what it's worth, the first half was a good read but it seems like she stems a lot of her hate from the memes (??!!) and nitpicking at lines from back to back
Kinda strange to "break up with drake" for any of those reasons. Especially at this time where it seems like he simply can't lose (financially & legitimately speaking).
Don't see how anyone can be nothing but proud of how far he's come and how much farther he has yet to go

"the triumph of content creation, analytics over everything, the numb acceptance of Sprite as our House of Medici" is a little verbose but I agree. Drake's a manufactured "icon," a safe, corporate friendly face for rap. I srsly want him to try to be more than this watered down idea hip-hop can be for everyone.... value something, anything over his sculpted image -- he's got the platform, lets hear him write rap the ultimate #blacklivesmatter anthem. Something powerful and zeitgesity that challenges mainstream music fans in a real way.
ofc, there's too much at stake, so he isn't going to do anything like that. take care was a good album, but he's a total sellout
edit: but yeah, who gets a drake tattoo after a bad breakup? v cringe... grow up -

P4k needs an editor on staff with enough balls to chop a paragraph worth of intellectual posturing out of every review. Besides that, pretty good read despite being a little unfocused and kind of obvious at times. The ending sounds like a corny call to arms. Touched on a lot of the same stuff as that PassionofWeiss article. Drake hate is very in right now apparently. -
