Most overrated albums of 2015

    What do you guys think are some of the most overrated albums this year? Besides some obvious ones (Barter 6), here are a few of mine:

    • Tame Impala - Currents
    I've never been the biggest Tame Impala guy, but this album had a lot of hype leading into it and decided to check it out and well... I don't really like it. Whether it'd be Kevin Parker's nauseating falsetto, his piss-poor lyrics, or overbaked production, there's a lot to dislike about this album. While there's definitely some solid cuts ("Let It Happen," "Nangs," and "The Less I Know the Better"), overall the album left me with a bad taste as it answers the question of "What if your douchey ex-boyfriend wrote an album about your guys breakup?"

    • Jamie xx - In Colour
    Have you noticed so far that both of these albums got 9.3's from Pitchfork? Anyways, yeah this album isn't bad, but it isn't really good either. It's just a solid okay. There's some really great tracks here but overall the album is kind of bland. Like this album played it too safe for my liking as I know Jamie xx can pull off more experimental production (see his collab/remix album with Gil Scott-Heron), but decided not to as he really wanted to have a more wider appeal. There's nothing wrong with that but eh, hopefully the next album is better. (And because some of you might ask, yes, I love the Young Thug feature/song).

    • A$AP Rocky - At.Long.Last.A$AP
    Like Tame Impala, I've never been a big A$AP Rocky guy. I didn't mind Long.Live.A$AP and out of curiousity decided to check out his new album. Honestly, this album just bored me. It's cool Rocky tried changing things up a little bit by adding a more psychedelic edge but on this album he just comes off like he discovered acid a month ago and wanted to make more psychedelic music just because. The album starts off really well with "Holy Ghost" but just falls from there with uninspired lyrics and flows that get old quick. I can handle Rocky for a track or 2, but not 18.

    Nothing really. I feel people use overrated to mean "well received things I didn't enjoy"

    Maybe Compton but idk yet. Other than that everything roughly got the amount of praise it deserved as far as rap goes.
