Aug 11, 2015 They never get mentions by anyone ever. slaughterhouse members beg current relevant topics such as Joe jumping on the Meek vs Drake beef. Yela does his own thing. is shady 2.0 a failure ?
Aug 11, 2015 i dunno, maybe, everyone takes the piss outta cashis and bizarre everywhere I visit, poor obie tho, dude had so much potential
Aug 11, 2015 Valid point. Wouldn't say they are irrelevant but they are very different from today's hip hop
Aug 11, 2015 Besides 50 Cent, not one Shady Records artist has gotten much props from the hip hop community. Find me a interview where somebody relevant in hip hop f---s with Bobby Creekwater, I'll wait.
Aug 11, 2015 Currently? The SH members are respected in the hip-hop community, but also very irrelevant Nobody in the hip-hop community respects Yelawolf whatsoever. Something I've noticed is that he's only popular on rock stations
Aug 11, 2015 Why Obie is so underrated? He's so good? Why he isn't popular? I listened to Don't Come Down and Love Me these are great beats? And his voice is awesome still? Why???
Aug 11, 2015 They're a average record label, they haven't really put out anything to consider themselves relevant enough, ever sense Em signed Slaughterhouse & yelawolf they been putting out meaningless records (ShadyXV, Southpaw), I wouldn't be surprised if respected artists in the hip hop community don't know who they are. I personally didn't know them until Eminem signed them tbh.
Aug 11, 2015 Yela seemed to gain a little more fame and respect from Love Story (not much though), but Slaughterhouse is as irrelevant as it gets, and D12 has been a joke ever since Proof died (yes they're technically still on the label).
Aug 11, 2015 I wouldnt say they are irrelevant, they just haven't hit the big time yet which is the case for 90% of the Rap Artists out there But let's not forget Love Story hit 55,000 units in its first week which is not great but not bad either
Aug 11, 2015 He was the most relevant but the others were pretty successful too. Obie and D12 both went multi-platinum and DJ Green Lantern was arguably the most successful DJ in the game before Em dropped him. s--- even Stat Quo at one point had a bigger buzz than Slaughter or Yela ever has.
Aug 11, 2015 f--- this thread! Slaughterhouse is as real as it gets! All you punks don't even listen to lyrics anymore, dumb fa----s. Hit me up when you listen to real hip hop like Atmosphere and Murs.
Aug 11, 2015 At one point Obie & Stat were pretty relevant. It's a shame how both of their careers plummeted because of Em's issues, but they definitely had their moments. It's safe to say Shady 2.0 is a failure though. I like SH, but they're too inconsistent. Have they dropped ANYTHING worthwhile since their debut? As far as Yela goes, I've never been a fan. IMO they're irrelevant because they lack mass appeal. You need more than just your hardcore fans to be relevant in Hip Hop nowadays.
