I do what I wanna do that's why I don't really have any friends tbh lol. I could be fake af and fit in but Im not that type of dude. When I used to drink and party, I had a lot of friends. I got
In trouble with alcohol though, and haven't drank in 2 years. And I got really into bodybuilding so that's also why I still don't drink.

You realize you can lift and drink right? Is that your sole reason for not drinking?

Look at some bodybuilding threads and groups then,
If you can't find anyone like you there then go onto places that'll share your thought of mind, i dont smoke weed anymore, but i still hang out with a lot of stoners cos they get me....

I do realize that. After I got in trouble with alcohol it just opened my eyes man. Nothing good comes out of alcohol.

Everyone gets in 'trouble' with alcohol though lol
And you can still be bodybuilding and drinking it's really not that bad
But just keep being yourself and you'll find people who are the same and share the same interests

If you dont wanna drink because you legitimately dont like it then thats fine,
But if you're forcing yourself to, then you'd be better off drinking casually, to help yourself to be social and connect.....

Restraint/self control, knowing your limits. Alcohol is fun when used right, only when it becomes an addiction should you worry.

You just need to explore and diversify your topics, talk about sports or films or comedies or something, I met most my friends through school/college etc or jobs.

There are 2 huge lessons I've learned over the last few years:

    1. Life moves way too fast and we forget to slow it down. Enjoy every moment and memory until our time is up.

    2. This is more relevant to this thread but this world is f---ing huge. There are so many places and people we still haven't seen/met so take your time man and eventually you will find those like-minded individuals.

Some people are just more mature than others, once you get to college it will even out.. you will meet loads of like-minded people.

This. Especially if you are only in high school atm. Wait until you get out into the world, start clubbing (you dont need to drink to do that), travelling. This world is full of so many different people, with personalities, hobbies and interests that you couldn't even imagine.
You're time will come. Just focus on yourself for the time being and being the happiest you can be. You'll find your crowd.

I live in a city where everyone does drugs, drinks, and parties yet I've never/will never touch a beer or any drug in my life I don't go to parties but I do go to backyard shows a few cities away. When I went to high school everyone was so quick to follow any and every trend. Where I dressed how I wanted from hairstyle to clothing even with music I liked what I liked regardless. Trying to fit in is for p-----s be yourself and find people with similar interest and most importantly think the same as you. All those kids that I went to school with who were so popular I bet money I'm more popular and have a much better life than them now in any way. From girls, social media, friends, and attention all that.

Sometimes I yearn to fit in but other times I see that there's no need to if you have a good circle of friends.

Just do you and soon you'll meet like-minded people.

I do not fit in here. I don't try to either. I don't even have a lot of friends here as well. All my friends live out of state. I mean I met these people when I was 12 on forums like these and we all still keep in contact on FB. I even visited one of them in DC last year. We decided that we'll get a place together and move in next year. I get lonely sometimes but I know I won't be for long.

    How old are you?

I remember this phase. Lasted from around age 14-17. I didn't drink/smoke in high school either. Only had a few close friends and everyone else in my circle constantly boasted about how big the handle of vodka was they downed last Saturday. Wasn't that I didn't "fit in", I just didn't feel comfortable in those situations and shied away from any party invite. I remember listening to their childish conversations and thinking how much more mature I was.. blah, blah.

    Guess what. I was wrong.

You're not more mature. You're just being an extreme introvert and that's totally okay. I'm glad I never drank in high school, but I do regret not accepting invites & avoiding social situations. By my senior year of high school, I established a better group of friends and most of those "not fitting in" feelings went away. By college, everything will change: You won't find more people like you, you'll become more like those people you disliked. You'll start drinking. It's fun. It will happen. However, you'll also meet a lot of new friends who are going through the same "good kid in high school" transition to college. That's the thing about college (or at least the one I attended), the usual freshman was pretty innocent before entering that stage of their life. They made it into college, after all.

Focus on improving yourself. Focus on improving confidence. Work out. Run. Start a unique hobby. Just remember: Unless you k--- someone or get your girlfriend pregnant: nothing that happens in high school really matters.
