    A lot of people don't place themselves in cops shoes.. what would they do? Not here on the internet, but when they are in that situation.

    Agree with @FullSpeed about respecting them, but of course there are some cops that are d----s. @Narsh does have a point (better training etc) but I don't think it's the right thing to blame it all the on the police, they also get pushed into s-----y situations

    Word, saw that a cop pulled over a guy and he was just chillin just like a regular civilian, and I don't know what for what reason but I can hear there conversation and he was going for his pocket not reaching for anything just to put them inside though cause it was cold out and the cop said don't put your hands in your pockets that's the worst thing to do.

    It's not that easy. When your life is in danger all you can think is how do I stop this person and the easiest way is a chest shot since most cops aren't crack marksmen. @FINESSING said the training should be more rigorous, but that's impractical as you have to rely on the local average populace, because I've seen firsthand what happens when they bring in outside trained contractors, and they're total power tripping dickheads with no connection to the community.

    The problem is you have some cops that do terrible things, especially ones that work in bad areas and only know how to deal with problems violently because their life will be at risk otherwise

    And then you have people who havent done anything wrong or were pushed to doing something like selling drugs out of desperation who were pushed to hating cops who work in these conditions,

    I would love it if every cop was wise enough to understand the situation they were dealing with everytime, but some just don't and the fact that these people are in a place of power makes it worse....

    Cop-civilian interaction and the mismanagement of their behavior and practices on both sides is a complex issue that won't be solved by saying "f--- cops they need to be perfect superhumans that no what to do on every situation" or "you shouldn't be doing anything illegal always concede to the laws no matter what". Both are idiotic and over simplified approaches to the issue.

    In most high crime areas the police actually lower their presence due to the inherent hostility they attract. Police response times in high crime areas are worse than any other parts of the country including out in the sticks. Cops have minimal effect on crime in high crime areas, so really lowering police presence would just mean lowering how many cops are pulling over people going 5 over and smoking weed in public.

    I know some cops personally and that whole mandate and quota bs is all fake. Or at least its not widely used and those who use it are corrupt and judging groups of people based off the lowest common denominator is what the cops are hated for

    Just because he media only shows the bad ones does not mean were are in a shortage for good ones. I'd like the bad ones are a small percentage.. even the ones they show on TV arent that bad just portrayed that way. Not saying alot arent f----- up but if you're not doing anything wrong then a cop aint gonna f--- with you 99 percent of the time. I think people need to separate the TV from real life.

    There are definitely a lot of good cops, but the issue is that the cops that are bad are in a place of authority that they can abuse and use to their advantage,

    I always appreciate a good cop, because they're using their authority for good reason, but like i said cops are just normal people, so some are f----- up completely and some are great guys.....

    Yes like I said before it would be nice to think of a way to filter out the bad ones. I do know you have to have a clean record to be a cop though so I don't see how its possible to pre judge who the bad ones would be. Cops are punished when they f--- up though and most of the time kicked off the force.
