I was listening to Soldier yesterday evening and of course it was as epic as it was when I first heard it. Then a couple of songs later, Best Friend came on shuffle. I don't know why alot of people on here s--- on that verse so much but I always thought it was a great feature. The religion scheme he did throughout the verse was incredible, the way his verse was juxtaposed with Yela's soft crooning was cool, and there's alot of dope wordplay. Now after I heard these two songs, this question came to mind. Is modern Eminem really as bad as he is made out to be? Now I know his flow doesn't sound as effortless as it used to, his humor isn't as sharp and the beats he raps on now aren't as appealing but besides that, I think every other facet of his craft is just as good now if not better than it was before the hiatus.

Lyrically, I believe he is at his peak right now. In Recovery he tried to recreate Lil Wayne's punchlines and they were forced and pretty corny. Ever since Recovery, they have improved tenfold, even surpassing Wayne's. Like this, for example. "So if you don't like what I have to say on the mic then ya might just wanna act like quarterbacks and take a f---in hike when I snap cus im a sinner". This is massively better wordplay then "my fillet is smokin weed yea fa---- the stakes are high". Like from h--- the Sequel to now, you can see the improvement. Going back to the religion scheme, the football wordplay is fitting since on sunday, the majority of NFL games are on so this line does make some sense in context. I'm not gonna do an in depth analysis on Best Friend's lyrics but the last thing I will say about it is that the droppin a duece line isn't as bad as yall make it seem to be (and the tupac, biggie, proof mention is akin to a hip hop holy trinity). Of course it's not literal since after he talks about filling up a syllable clip. These are just figurative expressions for rapping.

And let me ask you this... Is it really that cringeworthy or are you just picking and choosing? Kanye saying "these n----s a--- water get the drano" Future saying "I just took a piss and I seen codeine coming out" or kendrick saying "different toilet same s---" doesn't get nearly as much flack. Idk if it's nostalgia bias, white guilt, the bar he set for himself that causes nitpicking, people wanting to fit in with the bandwagon, or you just don't like Em being overly technical and overly complex lyrically and think he's trying hard but he really isn't bad at all. He's evolved and at this point in his career, he has nothing to prove.

You look at other active rappers in his generation and only Nas is touching him. He is in his second prime. But that's just my opinion. He isn't as great as he once was but to say he fell off is just asinine. I'm not grudgingly nodding my head to the overhate of him anymore. The stigma of him on here makes him seem like OJ Da Juiceman or someone lol

    TL:DR
    h--- no

"it's cool to hate on Eminem now"

no it's not shut the f--- up. It's cool? really?
So if this weekend, I went out to the club and proclaimed "Eminem is s--- everyone! I hate him" everyone would throw their hands up in celebration and be like "whoa this guy is sooooo coool!" lol. Nobody thinks it's cool to hate on him, you freaks.

Rappity rap is such a f---ing cringeworthy thing to say literally more awkward than anything Eminem has ever said
Back to the topic f--- no! People literally ignore the h--- out of highs since his return and only focus on the bad not the meh but the extremely s-----y bad
Because talking about Guts Over Fear and how great that second verse is is boring talking about So Far and him whipping his a--- is a better thread
