I was a trainer at my gym but I stopped doing that after I reached a certain amount of money to live comfortable for awhile. I live with my girlfriend so we put all our money together and we have a good amount to relax for a bit.

Yeah Monday and Friday would be perfect. Maybe even throw in a Wednesday time to time. I have an office, but it's near the shore which is a little over an hour away, but no one goes there so it's pretty much like working from home anyway.

Probably the best thing about it, besides being able to work while listening to music or watching a movie, is that there's no one standing over my shoulder. You don't always have something to do every minute of every day and pretending to have to work when the boss is in the area always sucks.

What sucks though is that everyone knows you work from home so they annoy you after hours. My boss hit me up at 9:30 last night to help with something. It was quick, but annoying

teaching at the local high school part time, while I work on my bachelor degree. I think I'll go for the masters degree while I'm at it.

there's a social aspect to getting out of the house during work hours and actually going into an office full of people who don't want to be there as much as you. granted I usually hate people I work with but its still something I miss working during the day because I'm usually glued to my work computer in my room 9 hours a day even if it's not 9-5. I do get out during those hours for meetings and s--- but it's not the same as having co workers.

Exactly. Having that bond with others of hating what you do and complaining together made going to the office worth it. I get outside every day though, whether it's going to the gym, for a run or food shopping. Some people don't leave at all during the week. They're f---ing social weirdos

yeah i get out too, i just meant during work hours I'm usually glued to my computer working all day unless i'm out doing a meeting or something, still tho it's a hefty chunk of the week that i'm just here working and sending emails and shitposting here.

definitely agree about the benefit of not having people looking over your shoulder tho :wow2:, my last job I had someone who would literally sit behind me as I worked and watch over my shoulder, no exaggeration. it's not fun putting together a 66 page magazine with someone stopping you every 5 seconds to nit pick

i don't think i'd ever willingly go back into an office environment unless i was the one running it, despite the few negatives i definitely prefer working from home

I only had one boss who was really bad at doing that. When I first started, our team was in cubicles. Then he wanted an more "collaborative" environment. So they knocked down the cubicles and set them up so the whole floor was open. It was like half a cubicle with windows in them and everyone could see each other. s----d for privacy and made it louder when you were on a conference call. It also made it easier for him to sneak up and stare at your screen. I setup my desk so my screen was at a weird angle so he'd have to be closer to see it.
