To make a long story short, I've played baseball my whole life and when it came to playing baseball in college I chickened out. I was recruited to play at a local D3 school as pitcher. My reasoning was I don't want my life to be consumed with baseball. I just didn't have the same love for the game.
Now every kids dream that played little league was to play in the MLB. I've had some people in my life that told me if I worked hard that i could make it and be drafted. I believed them and at the same time i was pessimistic. I was clocked at 85 MPH if anyone was wondering.
Im now in my 2nd year of college and still not playing baseball. As some of you may be aware you have 4 years of eligibility to play college sports. So in theory I could play baseball again at some point at my college. if you were in my shoes, what would you do? Give it a try and see if I'm good enough and develop enough to get drafted? Or I am Washed up?

Just wanna hear what some other people have to say other than my irl friends and family and if anyone else has had similar experiences.

When my decision had to be made It really stressed me out and i was very indecisive about playing. Not trying to go through that again lol.

Nothing to lose by doing this. You started this for a reason, don't abandon it because you'll later regret it. Go ahead and see what happens, if you get drafted, that's great, if you don't, it's still great, at least you know what happened, you won't be asking yourself a few years later "what if" or "what could've been".

Play ball bruh. I was in a similar situation, but gave up on the game sophomore year of high school and didn't follow through with it in college. I was a pitcher as well and got clocked around the same speed. Idk how far I could have gone but you'll never know if you don't give it a shot. I still regret it to this day.

Good luck man, hope whatever you do works out. I think if you're that good it would definitely be worth it. All the other stuff like friends and your freedom are worth putting on hold for pursuing your dream IMO.

Honestly my cousin is in a similar situation.

He's played baseball since he was like 7 and he's a senior now so obviously his whole life is baseball and he's not too bad.

However he started wrestling as well and quickly become one of the best wrestlers winning state and all that jazz.

Well he's conflicted with if he should stick with the thing he's done his whole life and put tons of time into (baseball) or the thing he actually likes and has a natural talent at (wrestling).

I tell him to wrestle.. but even when I do that I feel weird because I know how much of a big role baseball has played in his life.

I say pursue it... you can't lose anything from it. You can only gain experiences.

Bro you gotta play. I broke my femur my freshman year of high school along with ligament damage so I couldn't play anymore sports. I miss it everyday. You can't play sports forever man. Go for it.
